The base of the driveway is a tad narrow so be mindful coming in and out. It’s narrower than most driveways. The house is on a hill. The house has a fence but it is not all the way fenced in. Absolutely no parties. Smoking inside or outside is prohibited. Any evidence there will be a $200 charge. If the smoking detector is removed or tampered with, you will be fined. If something breaks, please notify me immediately. All items are accounted for. If something goes missing there will be additional charges incurred for replacement. Prices vary per item. Stained towels, sheets, or blankets (after being treated and/or bleached and the stain still exists) will be subject to additional charges for replacement. DO NOT move any furniture without asking me first. If you bring your furry friends and there is damage or waste is left in the yard an additional fee will be applied. First impressions were not good. Tree limbs were down all over the yard, grass was uncut, a portion of the deck was crumbling and cobwebs were all over the front porch. So, it was evident from the get go that the house was not well maintained.The inside was not any better. The bathroom shower curtain had to be peeled apart and bright pink mold/algae was all over it. Dust had accumulated on all the vents throughout the house and the carpets were, and I cannot express this enough, FILTHY. We immediately contacted the host asking for a refund because this was not what we had paid for, but she refused stating it needed to be canceled weeks in advance. The host did agree to have the liner replaced and bathroom cleaned but this never came about because I was not about to wait days for someone while my children lived in that. I ended up going out and buying a bunch of cleaning supplies, mop, and dirt devil to do it myself.Some other small things; the dishwasher was broken from the first day, garage is locked and the biggest closet in the house is locked. I was willing to let this all go and just lean into a bad situation, but once we left, the host is claiming "significant dirtiness left behind" and confiscated our security deposit. The house was left in much better condition than when we arrived. Sep 25, 2022 Disliked: Check-in, communication #### Very Disappointing - Poor Interaction I booked this property and then had a family emergency and could not complete the trip. I contacted the host and asked if she could try to rent the place to someone else due to my inability to come to KC - but I understood if not (I had already prepaid). I asked her to help me out with a partial refund (of the pet fees and I asked her if she could forego the cleaning fees since we were never even there and so no cleaning was needed) - I had a big ER bill to pay. She was very vague and unresponsive - and suggested she would provide some kind of discount for a future trip but never told me how much and never responded again after I asked her a couple of times for details. I did book another VRBO this summer with another host - but would not recommended staying here with a host that charges for things that were no cost to her, and was very non-communicative. Had she been open and honest and not charged me after the dates of the stay (for non-existent cleaning and pet fees) I would have re-booked. ##### Linda P. The house was well located for us and had everything we needed. It was clean and had new appliances, HVAC and an updated bathroom. The bathroom door did squeak which could easily be fixed. The driveway is narrow but my truck was able to get in and out okay. It would be nice if the back yard was fenced as it would be easier for people with dogs. We were in town for a wedding.
