We love this place! The pictures on the website don't even capture how beautiful this place is This was probably the most well stocked and well equipped vacation rental we have ever stayed at - laundry detergent in the laundry room and ice maker on the fridge. , and food in the pantry Fantastic in every way I'll keep this short and sweet - we loved it! We have been going to the Big Island almost annually (minus COVID) for about 15 years. We have mainly stayed in Waikoloa and enjoyed that, but for the past couple of years have come to Mauna Lani. This condo has been the best we have stayed for a couple of reasons. First, the location at the Mauna Lani in general and more specifically in the Fairways complex is really nice. Mauna Lani offers a great combination of shopping convenience along with neat little beaches including the owners Beach Club and historic Hawaiian sites. This complex sits in the middle of it all and the unit itself stands out because of its west facing aspect with open views out across the 12th hole of the golf course (far enough away not to be affected by what appeared to be some errant golf shots!), with beautiful sunsets over the palm trees in the distance. Second, we have never stayed in a unit so well appointed. The furniture and fixtures are all first class, and is stocked with EVERYTHING you need to make your vacation straightforward and enjoyable. I can't think of one thing that we needed that this condo didn't have, quite frankly. Nice pool in the complex as well, although be forewarned that per the rules kids under 8 are not allowed in the hot tub (not even with an adult) but that is the only flaw I can think of (flaw for us maybe a positive for others!). Again, we loved the unit and love the Big Island! While the Big Island is always incredible, our recent trip to Mauna Lani was truly one of the best because of our gorgeous accommodations in Jan's Fairway condo. The pictures and descriptions can't capture the quality, ambiance and location of this property. The accommodations are well decorated with attention to detail (pictures, furniture, kitchen amenities, electronics including TV, Music, etc) and you truly feel like you are at a 'home away from home'. Jan helped with the details of our stay and so many great suggestions for the surrounding area including food, beaches and activities. We've been to Mauna Lani many times without our children and the condo proved to be a perfect combination of luxury and location. Truly a paradise made even better by the accommodations and hospitality! Walk to Orchid Beach or use of private beach club, cooler, beach toys available LET US SPOIL YOU IN OUR NEWLY DECORATED HOME IN A HAWAIIAN PARADISE. Porcelain tile floors throughout the downstairs, granite & stainless kitchen stocked with the gourmet chef in mind. We have a Viking gas barbecue on the lanai. Sit on your lovely lanai and look across at the 12th hole on the Mauna Lani golf course. For our guests who want to REMAIN CONNECTED, there is WI-Fi internet access throughout the house. 3 TVs, including a 55 inch smart tv and Streaming Ne-Flix. We also have a sound bar set-up in our living room so you can bring your favorite music. For our guests who are WORKING REMOTELY while vacationing, we can help you with your multi-tasking with a HOME OFFICE FOR YOUR USE. Just bring your computer or tablet. We can supply high speed fiber optic internet, printer/copier, calculator and consumable supplies for your use. WE HAVE THE TOP LOCATION AT THE FAIRWAYS AT MAUNA LANI. From the downstairs lanai look out towards the 12th hole fairway of the Mauna Lani golf course about 75 yards away. Look 200 yards across at the beautiful homes of Puoaia. Listen to birdsong every morning as they call to each other across the lava and perch in the beautiful Heliotrope trees outside our lanai. Best of all, prepare your favorite libation and pupus so you can sit on the lanai toasting to the end of a tropical day while watching the sunset each evening. Perhaps if you are lucky, you will see the green flash. YOU WON'T ARRIVE TO AN EMPTY CUPBOARD. We cheerfully provide basic staples. You won't arrive and find 1 roll of toilet paper at our house or just a salt and pepper shaker in the guest food cabinet. If you are a new visitor to our island, let us be your remote concierge. We collect many suggestions about restaurants and excursions that we are happy to pass on to you. Our guests have SPECIAL ACCESS TO THE HOMEOWNERS BEACH club that includes a full service restaurant and cabanas along the beach. This is a wonderful snorkeling area for beginners and veteran snorkelers. Stroll to the world famous Orchid hotel for evening poupus or walk to our nearby shopping center for a morning coffee at our neighborhood cafe. We had a wonderful stay in a place that is not your typical VRBO in that you truly feel like a guest in someone's home. Tasteful artwork decorates the walls, and the property has well stocked books, games, dishes and condiments and other extras. A very thick binder outlines everything you need to know. Upscale appliances (ex, stove, coffee maker, etc) and just an all around classy property at a great price. Some nitty gritty comments:1) this place is NOT for messy people, partiers, or folks who don't care for a property. The property provides lots of extras with the understanding that you'll take care of it all.2) make sure and get your parking pass right away at the management office (you can do it off hours, but just do it).3) access to the Mauna Lani Beach Club is a huge plus and was the icing on the cake (a 5 min drive away). It has a nice restaurant and is a very exclusive club in a picturesque bay and was just spectacular.4) If you are comparing locations between Mauna Lani and Waikoloa Beach area, Mauna Lani is quieter, more upscale and just 10 minutes from Waikoloa area. I think Mauna Lani is classier with a grocery store, brewery, beach gear rental and other amenities that you need for a nice vacation.5) Nice breezy fans and good A/C upstairs make for a comfortable sleep. The downstairs master bedroom is massive and the upstairs is very comfortable, too, with even colder A/C. I ran out of characters but stay there! ##### Jeff H. This was the perfect location to cheer on my husband during the Ironman triathlon. Our two teens had their own beds to sleep in, my parents had their own room as well. The kitchen was fully stocked so we could prepare, cook or grill all of our food, and we enjoyed sitting outside each night watching the sunset. Having access to a pool and a private beach was amazing. The home was impeccably clean and Jan has thought of everything you could possibly need. It was truly the highlight of our trip on Big Island. There is true pride in ownership that is reflected in the quality of furniture, decor, linens, kitchen ware & beach gear. The owners thought of absolutely everything and were generous with amenities and starters such as coffee pods, Mac nuts and condiments. The private beach club is perfect with cabanas and chaise and great snorkeling. We personally love Hapuna and the Shave Ice truck and shops in Kawaihae. We will most certainly be back. The kitchen is very well equipped and having beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella and boogie boards available made beach outings easy. The location within the Fairways is excellent, beautiful views from the Lanai and easy pool access. We also really enjoyed having access to the Beach Club in Mauna Lani. (We prefer a home setting vs. a hotel room). The condo had a golf course view, lots of privacy, lovely furnishings, well equipped kitchen, beach chairs, coolers, etc. The central pool & hot tub were a great way to wind down after a day at the beach. We found several restaurants within 10-15 mins drive. The condo was extremely well stocked and was very clean. We had an issue with the AC the first couple nights and decided to reach out to the owners. They quickly rectified. We had a nice time listening to the birds and sitting on the patio. The club access was a great spot to relax and enjoy quiet waters. Thank you to the owners for accommodating a schedule request due to a medical condition. This condo far exceeded our expectations. The pictures on the VRBO website do not do this place justice. I felt like we were living in a high-end hotel. The furnishings, art, linens, appliances, etc were exceptional. The kitchen was extremely well stocked. Even the supplied amount of toilet paper and paper towels were more than we needed for the week. The beach chairs, beach towels, umbrella, boogie boards, insulated coolers, etc made our beach trips very comfortable. The Beach Club private beach was amazing and we really appreciated the private parking lot. The snorkeling off this beach was wonderful. Jan and Michael's attention to detail was so far and above any other VRBO rental we have used in the past. We really liked staying in this area of the island. It was much quieter than Kona proper. The only down side of this area of the island is that the Foodland grocery store closes at 7pm. We were not aware of this and our arrival after that time meant we could not shop for breakfast foods for the next day. Luckily, we discovered the Sunday brunch buffet at the Mauna Lani Auberge Resort--pricey but wonderful! I wish we had stayed longer than a week in this condo! ##### Carol H.
