Honua Kai is a Four Star resort with four pools, five spas, a fitness center, Aina Gourmet Market, and beachfront Dukes Restaurant on premises. Our one bedroom condo (unit 514 in The Hokulani Building) has a partial ocean view from the lanai, has a KING sized bed in the bedroom AND queen SOFA SLEEPER for additional guests. There are three large pools at Honua Kai, each with its own character. The FORMAL Pool is an infinity-edge lap pool featuring two hot tubs and perfect ocean views. The OHANA Pool features a one hundred and twenty foot WATER SLIDE and a waterfall that cascades into the main swimming area. Natural lava rock will form an elevated hot tub that takes in the ocean views. The Ohana Pool also has a sandy beach and a shallow pool for the kids. The RIVER Pool features a meandering river that flows through smaller swimming holes and waterfalls. Honua Kai also features Duke's Beach House, an Oceanfront restaurant run by the same owners of Kimo's, Hula Grill, and Leilani's. Great food at reasonable prices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, in addition to poolside service. Experience the beautiful sunsets on Kaanapali Beach with live music nightly and a wonderful dining experience! Large fitness center with state of the art equipment is on the ground floor of the Konea Building. Ho'ola Spa and the Whaler's General Store in the Konea Building is now open. Located on the Fifth floor, our One bedroom, One bath condo has 700 square feet plus the 145 square foot lanai, and comfortably sleeps four. Our Property Manager lives five miles away and we can take care of anything that comes up. Honua Kai is within walking distance to many restaurants of all price ranges, a grocery store (Times Market), and a Farmer's Market. We are on the northern end of Kaanapali Beach and there is a boardwalk that starts at Honua Kai and goes to Black Rock, Whaler's Village and the Hyatt, the southernmost resort on Kaanapali Beach. Car rental is the most preferred mode of transportation. Uber is increasingly popular on Maui. Honua Kai does not charge guests for underground parking, and is included in our nightly rates. This is a great savings compared to other resorts on Kaanapali Beach that charges a "Resort" or "Parking" fee. Our secured, underground parking keeps your car cool from the sun, and is close to the elevators that leads you to our condo. This eliminates the need to walk through the lobby with your luggage or groceries. It was perfectly clean and exactly as described online. Parking was included and super easy. We never had a problem finding a parking spot. The grounds were amazing and well cared for and the beach was right there! Having Duke's on the grounds was very convenient and we had multiple meals there.The condo was very comfortable. The bedroom was a good size, the mattress was comfortable, and you could access the large bathroom from the bedroom and the main room. We spent quite a bit of time hanging out on the large balcony that had comfortable seating and a large table. I loved looking out at the water, and my husband loved looking out at the mountains. My family stayed her for a week in May (this is long overdue!) and had the most incredible time. First off, let me say how responsive, helpful, and welcoming Louis was throughout the whole process. It was our first time traveling to Hawaii with a baby and naturally we had a lot of questions that he so graciously answered. He made sure we arrived safely and even recommended food trucks on the way from the airport - they did NOT disappoint! The property is well maintained and located right on the beach. The condo photos truly don’t do it justice A is even more beautiful in person. It was cleaned from top to bottom, and well decorated. The views were spectacular with both the ocean and Mountain View. Louis literally thought of EVERYTHING - there was not a single thing we needed that he didn’t have. We used the pack n play for our baby and he even had a high chair seat to attach to the chairs. The property is in a perfect location to be able to get to Lahaina, Kapalua, and Whalers Village. It was nice to have Dukes for your convenience as well. We will absolutely stay here again and hopefully can do it again soon. I can’t say enough good things about this place and highly recommend for a couple or family! ##### Julie W. This year we found this listing and were blown away. Louis was an amazing host. He explained the check in process in detail, and made all arrangements with the hotel staff. We pulled up to the valet and were surprised to learn that they were expecting us. They brought up our luggage and groceries. The unit was luxurious, and most importantly clean. We had breakfast on the balcony every morning. The pools were great, my four year old had a blast in the slide. The view from the beach was truly awesome. Lanai to the left and Molokai to the right. The condo provided items for the beach which was fantastic. Loved the chocolates that were left as a welcome treat. The bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent - the resort was lovely! The condo was well-stocked with anything we could’ve needed during our stay. First, Louis is a top-notch host. From the outset of the booking to pre-arrival to being onsite, it was like having a concierge the entire way through. That in and of itself was worth a lot. The condo is very nice and has everything that you need and most of what you'd want (beach chairs, umbrellas, coolers...you name it). Location is also outstanding. Clean and had all the supplies we needed as a family with two younger kids (5 and 7). Louis was so responsive and excellent at letting us know exactly what to do upon arrival. Both were truly stunning, I often found myself unsure of which way to face while out on the lanai. Watching the sun rise above the mountains while laying in bed is in incredible perk of this unit. Honua Kai is a lovely property with dreamy pools and a beautiful beach. Great communication throughout! ##### Joy L. The condo was beautiful and thoughtfully stock with everything we needed to enjoy our Maui vacation. The hosts were gracious and checked in to make sure we could access the room and offered tips on Maui. We had a problem with the A/C- user error- and the host graciously walked us through steps to correct the program. It is kept very clean and is stocked with almost everything you’ll need. The check-in process was simple and Louis was quick to answer any questions we had via text. Our kids loved the sand toys that were provided in the room, as well as there were pool noodles, body boards, and an ice chest that came in handy; among other things.
