"This hotel has great rooms for cheap prices. Our room had a complication but the hotel staff upgraded our room no questions asked and were very apologetic for the issue. 4 stars. I'd give it 5 stars if there wasn't an issue with the original room, but how the staff reacted to the issue was exceptional!"

"I would never consider staying here again. For the price charged, the experience was completely unacceptable. The room felt grimy and poorly maintained from the moment we walked in. The bathroom was a genuine safety hazard—the toilets and floor were incredibly slippery. To make matters worse, the onsen was unhygienic and visibly full of hair. It’s clear that cleanliness is not a priority for the management here. To top it off, we were hit with a 400 yen accommodation tax at checkout. While I realize this is a Kyoto city requirement, paying extra fees for a hotel that can’t even keep its facilities sanitary felt like a total rip-off. Save your money and find a cleaner, safer place to stay in Kyoto. This was a massive letdown."
