From your front porch you can see Zellner Island and Juliette Dam. This one-bedroom cabin has an authentic, primitive feel but features all the niceties of home. The house features a studio set-up, a comfortable queen bed, and a simple kitchen with a microwave and refrigerator. The home also contains a functional yet minimalbathroom, features heat and air, and comes with towels and linens. \*Please note this is cabin #12 at Towaliga River Retreat\* Additionally, Towaliga River Retreat operates on well water and we do not recommend drinking from the tap. Amazing Amenities Cook your catch on the charcoal grill or relax by the community fire pit overlooking the Ocmulgee River. You’ll also have access to canoes and kayaks. We've got plenty of room for boat trailer parking and the South Juliette boat ramp is less than one mile from the cabin. Outdoor Access Towaliga River Retreat is located on the banks of the Ocmulgee within eye-sight of the Juliette Dam. Although the nearby town of Juliette is perhaps most known for the famous Whistle Stop Café featured in the movie Fried Green Tomatoes, the area is also home to some of the best hiking trails, gravel biking routes, kayaking and canoeing, and fresh water fishing that Middle Georgia has to offer. Anglers can expect to find shoal bass, large mouth bass, and other species both from the banks of the river or just around the bend in Lake Juliette. Lake Juliette boasts 60 miles of shoreline and 3,600 acres of pristine bass habitat. Towaliga guests can access our our on-site trail network. In addition, the Piedmont National Wildlife Refuge and Chattahoochee National Forest provide miles and miles of secluded roads for bikers and hikers. If you need help picking a trail, we can point you towards some of our favorites! Rum Creek Wildlife Management Area is a known destination for upland game species like turkey and whitetail deer. This cabin was very cozy. It is small but we were never in there . Loved the views so beautiful. The bed is not the best to sleep on but even though it was not comfortable we definitely return for another trip. Walking distance to The Whistle Stop Cafe , but the do close early . Everything closes early .
