Perched atop the beautifully peaceful Pine Hills community and just a short drive to the quaint town of Julian. This one-of-a-kind hand-hewn custom log cabin which features two large master bedrooms, a picturesque window room (with bed), and a loft (with bed). the cabin includes a king bed, 2 queen beds, 2 full beds, and a cozy futon. Sleeping 8 comfortably (and 1 more on the couch if you want!). The kitchen is large and great for cooking. This cabin is perfect for families or groups of friends. Enjoy the convenience of 3 bathrooms (2 full and one with a dry sauna, shower, and a large bathtub). Stay connected with WiFi, watch tv, stay comfortable with heating and AC, and take care of laundry with a washing machine. Iron out any wrinkles before heading out to explore the fabulous surroundings which include a charming downtown area and local hiking trails. This is such a special place. Relax on the porch with your morning coffee, lounge or nap in the porch-swing-bed, take nice walks on the winding roads, and gaze out at the stars at night (very little light pollution!). Also, it's not uncommon to see wild turkey, and deer during your stay! We hope you enjoy what our place and Julian has to offer. NOTE: Keep in mind this community is surrounded by nature. The area strikes a nice balance between a safe community feel and a sense of being "out in the woods", but not isolated. There are neighbors in the community, but from almost all areas of the property other cabins/houses cannot be seen, given we're atop the hill and have 2 acres). You'll experience a nice sense of peaceful privacy. With the surrounding nature and our hand-hewn log cabin (with its charming quirks), comes a bit of a rustic experience, but with the comforts of home; Air Conditioning, heat, WiFi, TVs, and all the cozy amenities shown and listed above. Be prepared for the possibility of some bugs around the property (might wanna bring some bug spray in the summer months). This is nothing new to those who've stayed in cabins in wooded areas, but it's worth mentioning:) We look forward to hosting you! If you have questions don't hesitate to ask! NOTE: No outdoor fires. It's the law in Julian. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. Before arriving, I had a simple question and messaged the host, but he didn’t reply until five hours later, which was already concerning. When we arrived at the cabin, it was immediately clear that the place had never been cleaned. It honestly felt like a crime scene. There were dirty dishes left in the sink, bed sheets thrown on the floor, beds without any sheets at all, and dirt everywhere. We even found a pair of used socks on the floor. On top of that, the outside lights were not working, and several bedroom lights also didn’t work, leaving most of the cabin dark. I tried multiple times to contact the host to explain the situation, but again, there was no response. I called the phone number listed for the host, and it went straight to voicemail. After leaving three voicemails, someone finally answered and said it was the wrong number and they were not the host. This stay was supposed to be very special — it was my boyfriend’s birthday, and we had planned this night months in advance. After a few hours, the host finally replied, apologized, and said they had forgotten to schedule the cleaning, then suggested sending a cleaning crew at 10 PM. Shortly after, a housekeeper called and said the host asked her to come clean immediately. I asked her to please tell the host to call me directly. She agreed — but the host never called and never responded again. There were some electrical issues going on that didn't fully allow us to heat the home and a few other things, but the owner sent people to work on it right away! We enjoyed sitting on the porch and enjoying the sounds of nature. It is about an hour and a half from San Diego so taking trips to the beach, Lego land and seaworld were easy and duable. The roads to San Diego are beautiful to drive. It was a great way to see some sights, get cheaper gas and groceries than Julian has to offer. Host is very responsive which is always a plus. We enjoyed the porch bed swing a lot. There were two addition swings to chill on that were also fun. Location had great ac for the master bedroom and living room but side bedroom near the kitchen wasn’t the best but was good. Site demonstrated they was a hot tube but the jets didn’t work, there was an issue with the hot water but it was resolved in less than an hour. The sauna was nice, max two adults. Had lots of playing room outside and beautiful birds and scenery. GPS lead us to the location pretty well. About 10-14 minutes from the main Julian town. Family had a great time. Kitchen was a nice size for cooking and eating together; and the novelties around the house were fun. ##### ivan r. We had a wedding in Ramona and this was a much nicer and more comfortable option for family rather than staying in Ramona. Spacious, plenty of room, and a great kitchen. The porch was an huge plus and the swinging bed was nice for coffee in the morning. Only two beds were uncomfortable and that was the room with the Xbox and my teenage niece was unphased. The other beds were great and we appreciated the nice heavy blankets throughout. The property is quiet and we were visited by deer, turkeys, quail, and jays. Even though we had “unseasonably high” temps for our weekend the front porch was still quite comfortable in the mornings and evenings and the A/C was very welcomed at peak temps. The dishwasher was not working so we cleaned up old school style, and wished we had brought dish sponges, kleenex, and saran wrap but otherwise we had everything we needed. Everything we could have wanted was provided onsite, and it was very close to the town. The only drawbacks were that it was a bit difficult to find (the route is circuitous, and Google Maps doesn't do a great job with navigation), and that we arrived during an unseasonably cold spell, and it was freezing. It would be good to have the heaters on a little to prepare for arriving guests. Other than that, a lovely stay! We enjoyed the sauna! ##### Danielle S.
