High View Haven is a bright and cheery house with a detached private casita. The home was lovingly designed by the owners who have been home sharing this property with guests from all over the world. We hope you and your friends/family will enjoy this space as much as those that traveled before you! THE SPACE \- The High View Haven has a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 bathroom with comfortable sleeping arrangements for 8 people \- 5 minute drive to the National Park Entrance \- Hiking trails available to walk to from property \- Family friendly park down the street and within walking distance THE MAIN HOUSE \- The the main house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms \- Primary bedroom - King bed with en suite \- Second bedroom - Queen bed \- Third bedroom - Queen bed THE CASITA \- This space is detached and sits below the main house with an entrance off the back deck \- Private kitchenette \- Queen bed and en suite \- The sleeping arrangements are comfortable, private and relaxing. THE OUTDOORS The property has a wonderful back patio with \- Propane BBQ Grill \- Propane Fire Pit \- Lounge space for beautiful sunrises with a cup of coffee and relaxing under the stars \- 7 person hot tub \- Private stone path past the fence that leads to a bench for private stargazing and animal watching ‱ OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Professionally managed by Hi-Desert Dwellings ‱ RENTAL AGREEMENT There will be a rental agreement sent out that will need a signature to complete the reservation ‱ DEPOSIT We do not charge a security deposit. We welcome you and your guests to come to the property without an added security deposit or any extra holds of funds. You will not have to worry about any additional charges for accidental damages! ‱ 4TH BEDROOM/ CASITA The 4th bedroom is located off the deck (detached from the main house) and has its own bathroom, and small kitchenette. You can access the bedroom from the slider door off the deck or through the garage. It heats by the electric fire place and cools by evaportive cooler. ‱ A/C & HEATER High View Haven main house is cooled and heated by central AC and Heat to keep you comfortable all year long. ‱ NEIGHBORHOOD For families traveling with kids, there is a community park within walking distance of the property. High View Haven does have a direct neighbor to the south. Please be aware they have an RV visible that you can see when entering the front door. They are super friendly, if you see them out and about their home but they keep to themselves. ‱ CAR LIMIT Please note that only 4 cars are permitted at the property. If the county gets a complaint that here are more then four cars and the county is going to start issuing $1000+ fines to the guests if more then four cars are seen at the property. ‱ FIRE Due to the location and a current fire ban there is a strict no open flames fire policy BUT the propane fire pit located outside if allowed. If it is discovered that you have started an outside fire, in a fire pit, using fireworks or other open fire (propane excluded when used IN the propane firepit and propane grill provided) means your rental agreement will be terminated and there is a $200 fine. ‱ GUESTS You are not permitted to have any guests on the property beyond those included in your rental agreement unless you request and receive permission from us. That includes day guests and over night guests. ‱ IDENTITY VERIFICATION You will receive a text or email from Guest Ranger that will ask you to verify your identity and submit a picture of a government issued ID and a selfie. This information will be used to verify that the booking guest matches the credit card used and to help reduce any issues with identity theft. This process is mandatory to complete the booking. The data is protected in a hash-encrypted vault following data security standards including GDPR. Data-input in the vault is encrypted in a two-way function where information is scrambled using an encryption key and unscrambled later using a decryption key. On top of that, we use hashing to add an extra layer of security using a one-way function where a unique message digest is generated from an input file or a string of text. No keys are used. By renting this property, guest acknowledges that they have read, understand and accept the terms listed above, including the guest policy. She picked this house so that she and her cousin could stay in the casita. They were thrilled with that space and loved having their own hang out. The exhaust fan in the main bathroom did not work & the sink in the same bathroom did not drain well. The exhaust fan on the stove, did not work, either. Only one washcloth was found in the main house. The curtains in the bedroom are very light weight, so thin, that the morning light lit up the rooms. The casita had a double bed top sheet, on a queen size bed

Best feature was the Great Room with big windows and sweeping views. Beds in the main house was comfortable and kitchen was reasonably well stocked. Cleanliness issues mostly on outside (gross dirty porch where you arrive, not inviting) but inside was very clean. Our biggest issue was the separate “casita” was totally oversold. A room off the garage with uncomfortable bed and pillows - no dresser or closet for clothes - and very small. Super disappointed. Also the check in instructions were wrong and we couldn’t get into that space. We finally figured out you had to go through the garage and another door but while we had the property manager on the phone they told us we weren’t allowed to go through the garage in a tone like we were doing something wrong? She said they would fix the instructions but we didn’t appreciate being scolded for trying to get into the casita. They were very responsive when the BBQ wouldn’t light and rushed over with a long handled lighter since there were no matches on premises. Also a few other maintenance items like burned out light bulbs. We loved the electric gate and so much room for parking. The hot tub was fantastic and worked great. Again overall we love Joshua Tree and the vibe but this was one of those houses they marketed and took pictures to make it look slightly better than it actually is. They do mention the lack of privavxy on one side with an RV by the fence and nosy neighbors. Our two dogs loved it and the fence around the property was perfect! ##### Heather K. We got in just fine and really liked using the online guide. Best part was seeing the sky light up at night from the hammock and venturing out on the little walk just outside the fence. We heard coyotes and saw lots of quail and jackrabbits - really peaceful. My one complaint is regarding the bathroom power not working in the casita. I figured since it was an urgent matter calling would be easier than emailing, but the person who answered the phone did not seem to want to help. I said I was on one of their properties and needed assistance with the electricity not working. They replied, with a sigh, "I don't know which property you're staying at. What's the name of the property?" I replied with the address of the property since I didn't know the "name" offhand, and they responded, with a larger sigh, "That's not the name." I paused and then found the "name" finally - normally I would shrug this interaction off. But then when I explained the issue, I was asked if there was a man in the group with me who could help me find the electrical panel. It was one of the most unprofessional things anyone has said to me as a customer. I worked in customer service for almost a decade and have dealt with some frustrating humans and know it's a tough job, but I had a legitimate issue. Asking me to find a man to help me is not a helpful statement. There was no apology offered when I called this statement out. Eventually a handyman was sent out, and the handyman was very sweet and helpful. We received an email as well to further assist with the issue, and although the power still did not work when we checked out, they were able to offer alternatives. So, the issue did get worked out and we were ultimately very happy with the trip. It was unfortunate that I thought calling on the phone would help. I sincerely hope the person who answered my call understands that the comment made me feel foolish and embarrassed, which is not the vibe I'm looking for on vacation! Would I stay here again? In a heartbeat. But if there's an issue with anything, I'd send an email first. ##### Julia S. This was the perfect house to stay in to explore Joshua Tree National Park. The park entrance was very convenient to the house. The house itself was lovely. The beds were comfortable with plenty of extra bedding. There were lots of towels for both the bathroom and the outdoor hot-tub. The hot-tub was perfect after a day of hiking in Joshua Tree. The kitchen was well stocked and had pantry staples provided (coffee, oil, vinegar, salt, pepper, dish soap, sponge, etc.). The house was very clean and check-in and check-out was easy and clearly explained. The views from the house were so beautiful and we saw lots of wildlife (birds, rabbits and even coyote!) right from the back windows. ##### Katherine A. We loved that the VRBO rental agency was extremely responsive and well organized; we would definitely rent from this same agency again! We also loved the fact that everything about the house (information, rules, instructions, suggestions) was available to all members of our group via an online app which we downloaded to our cell phones. Everyone enjoyed the trip, the house, the location and the amenities. This included parents in their 70s and kids as young as 7\. The house is beautiful, full of light, with nice views from several areas. Can be enjoyed from the outside decks or inside with the wall to wall windows. Clean and luxurious, relaxed vibe. Excellent hot tub. Central heating very helpful with the colder nights and early morning. Usable trails right outside fence for a short hike. Super quiet area with few surrounding homes. Excellent fully ready casita with direct garage access also centrally heated with its own bath. Excellent location for a serene desert vacation with a luxury accommodation. We would definitely book again especially if traveling with a large group. Looks like it only allowed certain number of device at a time. Property is for 8 adults so at least it should support 8-10 connections. Roku TV have some power connections issue and it doesn’t work.
