Located in the heart of nature and tranquility, this mountain cabin is perfect for family vacations, reunions, honeymoons, outdoor adventures, hiking, and more.  This incredible log home offers tranquility while still conveniently located for hiking, horseback riding, water sports, and a short ride to downtown Jefferson and West Jefferson, NC. Mountain Heir has 4 bedrooms and 3 full bathrooms. The master queen size bedroom is on the main level along with the master bathroom with a whirlpool tub. The other two bedrooms are on the upper level. One of them having a queen size bed and the other is a king bed. There is also a full bathroom on the upper level. The third bathroom is located on the lower level of the home. Our kitchen is fully stocked with most cooking utensils to prepare your family meal and clean up will be a snap with the dishwasher. The kitchen has a regular 12 cup coffee maker AND a Keurig, toaster, cookware, dinnerware and etc. The dining table seats up to 6 with 2 wooden benches. Enjoy a meal using our gas grill on the deck. The living room has a gas fireplace for those cold fall/winter days (fireplace is seasonal). The wraparound deck is perfect for enjoying the wooded views and the fresh mountain air. Lower Level: The lower level offers a 4th bedroom with a queen size bed and Roku TV. There is a full bathroom. Enjoy playing a game of pool or a friendly game of ping pong in our amazing game room.  Relax after a long day of canoeing, hiking, shopping, or sightseeing in our 5-6 person hot tub! Mountain Heir is the perfect way to spend quality time with the family. For the outdoor lovers, enjoy the nearby state parks, canoeing such as Zaloo's Canoes, which is about 5 miles from the cabin, or hiking at one of the many trails in Ashe County. If you like horseback riding Burnt Hill Stables is a great place to take the entire family! We will allow you to bring your four-legged family member, under 40 pounds, with you for a onetime nonrefundable pet fee of $100 per pet (these pet fees do not cover excessive pet hair or damages). Isn't it wonderful that for once you won't have to wonder how your best friend is doing in the kennel "back home?" All pets must be pre-approved by management.   There is a 2 night minimum for off peak seasons and a 3 night minimum for holidays and the entire month of October. 4 night minimum for the Thanksgiving holiday and a 7 night minimum for the July 4th and Christmas/New Year holidays.   Check in time is 4:00 pm or after and check out time is 10:00 am. However this time of year we found out was the prime season for bats. Unfortunately out of the control of home owners or property management, we found and heard some animal existence in the house. We called our property management immediately and received promt action to help with a relocation. We were disappointed that we had to leave the place we thought would work, but Stacy found another option within minutes. The drive to get there was very rough and if we didn’t come in a truck it would have been hard to drive it but it was worth it in the end. The kitchen is great, the downstairs pool table provided hours of entertainment and there are enough board games in the house to stock a store! The area is fantastic with the new river being just 5min away. The drop off point for Zaloos canoes is just down the road. It is a long drive to get to the house once you leave the main road, and the road is rough and parts were washed out from the rain (glad we have a 4 x 4). The water did not work for an entire day of our stay. Not fun when you can't flush toilets! The property manager did respond and try to help us out on a Sunday, but if it weren't for a wonderful neighbor, we would have had to go even longer without water. We also had to constantly follow up on the problem ourselves, as no one provided us with updates until we asked. Overall, we made the best of everything and had a great family vacation! The property and surrounding area was beautiful. My husband and I felt very comfortable in this very secluded cabin. It included all the typical amenities. One warning though, make sure you plot out your trip on an old fashion map prior to driving there. Cell service is non-existent and the GPS could not locate the property. We were told by the property manager prior to check-in that this would be a problem, but I really took it for granted how serious they were. The instructions provided by the property manager were difficult for us to follow as they did not include all the road names, but we did eventually get to the cabin. Furnishings were nice. It's will equipped. The only issues were minor. The toilet upstairs didn't flush well. The king sized bed was broken when we arrived but the property manager was able to get it fixed on Christmas Eve! (yay). The road was a bit scary. I'm glad we had a 4x4 vehicle. But the place really was worth the scary drive. We loved it. ##### Kelley S.
