A rabbit even hopped by a couple of times. The hot tub was located near my private entry, and it looked inviting, though I was busy visiting my son in nearby Boulder and didn't use it. Wendy was a terrific hostess, proving daily homemade muffins and other treats. The location is in the tiny, quiet town of Jamestown and is about a 30-minute drive from Boulder on winding mountain roads. A cafe that offers live music is a short walk away, though I didn't try it. I would have appreciate a lock on the door to the main house to lock while sleeping at night, and the mattress was a little hard but we were so exhausted we didn’t notice much. A variety of hiking options just steps away from the door. They had a nice binder with information about food, the area, and hiking. The hot tub was the perfect way to end the evening. Everyone in the area was very friendly. My only suggestion is that they include something about not having locks between their place and the apartment we stayed in or a lock on the bedroom door. That could make a difference for some. We are from a small town so it didn’t bother us at all. If and when we come back to the area we definitely will see if they have an open spot for us to stay again. It was a great get away to reconnect with each other and nature. My husband and I were in the area for a wedding and Wendy and Tim were awesome hosts. The rooms were clean and comfortable with every amenity we could want. Wendy even baked tasty treats for us and surprised us with them! The area is beautiful for hiking and the town is really cute. We went to the Merc as recommended by our hosts and had a great meal there with a cozy atmosphere.
