Marmaray Station is a 10-min walk, with easy access to the Historic Peninsula and Beyoğlu. The neighborhood offers historic sites, local shops, and a seaside promenade ideal for morning runs.

The apartment has a private entrance and operates with a lockbox system. You can access the apartment using the key inside the lockbox located right next to the door.  
  
The Neighborhood:  
Sakız Street sits in one of Bakırköy’s most peaceful seaside pockets — a place where the pace of the city softens and life feels a little more relaxed. Step outside and the scent of the sea greets you, mixed with the aroma of fresh simit from the corner bakery. Locals stroll to the promenade for their morning walks, fishermen line the shore, and the sound of the waves replaces the noise of traffic.  
  
The neighborhood blends history with everyday life. As you wander through its side streets, you might pass a historic mosque or stumble upon a hidden church, reminders of Istanbul’s layered past. Around the corner, small grocery stores, family-run bakeries, and fruit stands offer everything you need — along with a friendly smile from shopkeepers who know their regulars by name.  
  
In the evenings, the seaside comes alive with joggers, cyclists, and families enjoying the breeze. You can walk along the waterfront and watch ferries in the distance, or simply sit on a bench and let the view of the Marmara Sea work its magic.  
  
Here, you’re close enough to reach the city’s landmarks quickly, yet far enough to savor a calmer, more local Istanbul — one where life moves to the rhythm of the sea.  
  
Getting Around:  
Staying on Sakız Street means you’re perfectly positioned to explore Istanbul with ease. Just a 10-minute walk brings you to the Marmaray station, a direct rail link connecting the European and Asian sides of the city. From here, you can reach the Historic Peninsula — home to Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, and the Grand Bazaar — in only a few stops, or head towards Beyoğlu and Taksim for vibrant nightlife, shopping, and dining.  
  
The coastal road at the end of the street offers quick access by car or taxi to many of the city’s waterfront districts. Local buses and minibuses also run frequently, taking you to nearby neighborhoods and shopping malls. If you’re flying in or out, Istanbul Airport is about 45 minutes away by car under normal traffic conditions, while Sabiha Gökçen Airport can be reached in roughly an hour.  
  
For those who enjoy exploring on foot, the neighborhood is full of small grocery shops, bakeries, and cafés, and the seaside promenade is perfect for morning runs or sunset strolls. Whether you prefer public transport, ride-hailing apps, or walking, getting around from here is simple and convenient.  
  
Other Things to Note:  
As Homie Suites, we have to be provided with our guests’ valid passport ID’s to welcome our guests in our apartments which is a compulsory requirement to conform to the Turkish Legislation Regulations and Rules which were authorized and reported by Turkish legislation dated 26/06/1973.  
  
Our guests need to agree to send us the related information before they check into their Homie Apartment. Unfortunately, it is not possible for us to share the check-in instructions with our guests who don't share their passport information.
