Newly refurbished and surrounded by mature trees, the house is a perfect base for the Aran Islands, with Rossaveel ferry only a 5 minute drive away. Or take a trip to Connemara National Park. We referenced the house guide many times for advice on the local area. It's the perfect home base for exploring the area. We went into Cong one day and did a falconry experience at Ashford Castle and went in to Galway another day. Wish we could have stayed longer. Eimear was incredibly responsive and helpful. She is the consummate host. She has stellar pre-arrival communication, as well as during your whole stay. She has created the most thorough House Books that you have ever encountered... full of information that will answer just about any question that you have about the house and area.And the house is perfect. The accommodations are very clean and the furnishings are perfect.My wife loved the house so much, that she would love to have the blueprints to build the exact house here in the US.If you are looking for a place to stay in the Connemara area of Ireland, I highly recommend the Cozy Cottage that Eimear has created. Especially appreciated were the helpful instructions and labels for working the stove, showers, etc., which are not always obvious to visitors (like me) who come from outside Ireland! This property felt just like home. It was cozy with enough for gathering and had enough bedrooms for our family of young adults to have some space when needed. The kitchen was small, but mighty with all new appliances that made family meals easy to prepare. The property is fabulous with a nice outdoor sitting space and beautiful grounds. The property owner personally welcomed us to the property and was easily available when we had questions.
