Instead of apologizing, she suggested it might be our fault and spoke about conducting an “investigation,” which was unacceptable. Housekeeping eventually came, but the ant problem was not resolved. My 12-year-old daughter was very frightened, and I had to deal with the remaining ants myself. The following evening, a glass water bottle (the hotel provides drinking water in glass bottles) fell and shattered in the bathroom while my daughter was showering. Broken glass was everywhere, and she could not exit safely. Once again, reception did not answer for approximately 15–20 minutes. I had to collect the broken glass myself to make the bathroom safe and slightly injured myself in the process. Although the bathroom was cleaned the next morning, the cleaning was dangerously incomplete.
