The dive equipment was in great shape and they had multiple dive masters with us. The Cano Island dive it a sandy bottom, easy, 60 foot dive, with light to medium currents. I didn't see a ton of great stuff, but this school of fish was worth it in itself. The trip includes two dives, an island trip, snacks, lunch, all your equipment rentals, etc. $175 per person for the day. They can give you information on ecology you won't find outside of guided tour groups in the park, and there's also yoga. The property is beautiful and it is easy to see birds. It is a pretty primitive property and so you should be expecting bug bites and no modern comforts. Bathing in rainwater is amazing, but it is also not warm. Also the ants really bite- I was itchy for a week afterward. So be careful. When we arrived at hotel we were told hostess was at our unit waiting for us but she was not. Bathroom amenities were minimal but adequate. To access bathroom you have to leave main area, go outside and enter another door, going up and down stairs from bedrooms. Not great for wet feet and middle of the night bathroom visits. Electricity was out in the entire town when we arrived so A/C wasn’t working. The windows do not have screens in them so we couldn’t leave windows open for air circulation. It appears that it is not unusual for electricity to go out so being able to open windows would be better. Also the kitchen is not sealed closed from outdoors and we had critters get in our trash in the middle of the night. Not a great design for kitchen. On the plus side the beds were comfortable, everything was clean, and once we figured out logistics location was good. Unfortunately we were right by the pool with the pool towels (clean & a dirty basket) was by our door so people were often right by our door. Once we returned and a lady was holding a towel up so the other woman could change in front of our door! Talking from those at the pool went right through the window glass. There was supposed to be a 10 pm quiet hour but our neighbors didn’t pay attention to it. On the good side, the staff was very helpful with setting up taxis & tours as well as general info. Breakfast was adequate with a choice of 5 meals." The room itself was clean and the view was gorgeous. We were disappointed with the general service, particularly in the hotels restaurant. We booked a table on the first evening and it wasn't ready when we arrived, with the staff seeming stressed at our arrival. We were sat down 15 minutes late and the food took over an hour to arrive, during which time we were not visited once by the staff and the tables around us were left dirty. This was despite the restaurant being quite empty close to the end of service. There wasn't many staff available on site to talk to, and it felt like quite an inconvenience to them when you had a request. This does not include the girl who was volunteering with the hotel who was very helpful."
