Enjoy your morning coffee or evening cocktail on the private balcony. Gulf Island has a small private beach area, nature walk, game room, tennis courts, a newly renovated gym/social room and a lovely salt water heated swimming pool that overlooks the Gulf! Your unit has a fully equipped kitchen, a "high and grand" king size bed in the master bedroom and bunk beds in the guest room. Coin operated washer and dryers are located on this floor right in front of the elevators. This unit has a Keurig style coffee maker. Gulf Island Beach and Tennis Club is close to the new Sunwest Park - with a spring fed lake with a beach like atmosphere. Enjoy a night out a few minutes away at Sam's for great food, adult beverages and live entertainment. You will need a car; however, you will be located close to many and varied restaurants and shopping. Other activities and attractions in Hudson: Swimming, golfing, beaches, theme parks (Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, are approximately 45 minutes' drive), Disney World and Universal Studios (within an approximately 1.5-hour drive), Cypress Gardens, Buccaneer Bay, and much more! boating, fishing, dolphin-watching, shelling, cruises, gambling boats, restaurants, shopping, and movie theaters. Again, this is why we HIGHLY recommend purchasing good travel insurance. There should be a few policies offered towards the end of your booking process. One of which should allow you to cancel for any reason (CFAR). However, it is important for you, to do your proper research in confirming what exclusions, if any, exist for that particular policy. If none are offered to you, you can always contact another 3rd party travel insurance company. Date changes, rain checks, or compensation will also not be options under these circumstances! The views were breathtaking, and every person we encountered was warm, friendly, and welcoming.The atmosphere leans more toward a mature crowd, mostly retirees.While the surrounding area outside the resort is a bit run-down, the resort itself is very secure with gated access and feels like a well-kept oasis.Everything on the property was fresh, clean, and well-maintained. The pool was crystal clear, and the tennis and pickleball courts were in excellent condition. The property had a VERY small beach, lovely cove, nice pool, good view. We did enjoy ourselves and it was a nice property. We were able to see dolphins and rays from the balcony. My husband and I worked here for the week and was perfect for our stay. The second bedroom we used as an office and fit dual 27” monitors on the table. Beautiful views from the balcony and front entrance. We saw manatees and dolphins during our stay. We enjoyed playing pickleball and walking through the canal neighborhoods each day. Our favorite restaurants were Inn on the Gulf in Hudson, Catches in Port Ritchie and Estuary in downtown New Port Richie. Would definitely recommend staying here for the views. ##### Kristi L. Building 3 is the farthest from the beach and pool but not too bad. This is a small beach and it can be kind of mucky. The second day was better probably because we stirred it up. There are a lot of leaves and grass in the water. Niece said it was a grass flat. BUT there is sand and sea water. Pool is really nice. The king bed in the room is pretty high. Shell’s seafood restaurant is worth the drive!! All the sinks had hand soap and dish soap in the kitchen. There were 3 hair dryers and a curling iron provided. Good view. Enjoyed seeing and hearing all the boats. Nicely updated condo. There are some chairs on the beach. There were also a couple chairs an umbrella and tennis and pickle ball rackets in the condo. ##### Ben W. Our teens were slightly disappointed by the lack of things to do in the area, but that was our fault for not researching better. It seems like a short drive to everywhere unless there’s traffic and then it takes double the time to get where you want to go. Not many families so our kids didn’t meet any other kids. Great fishing and can see dolphins on the bay. Inside needs a little work - dishwasher and kitchen sink leaked . Master toilet was wobbly and tub didn’t drain properly. And bathroom door didn’t latch - also a painting was poorly mounted near front door and would get hot when opening- we moved it durning out stay sp it wouldn’t get damaged . The condo (8th floor great view) was a great size for my wife and two daughters (17 and 22) who made the trip. We were looking for Pickleball and Hiking as well as the Florida sun. We hit on all 3 these. The residents and other guests were very friendly and if you are looking for an older group this is it. Might have only saw a handful of under 50 the entire stay at this resort. Unfortunately no walks along the Gulf beach in the morning or at night as you will have to drive a ways to get this. However, the pool was heated and they have a great game room for the complex with lots of activities. They even had a talent show one of the nights that we attended. Oct 19, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location #### Wedding and family time My friend and I were in Florida for my niece's wedding and to visit my friend's dad. At the designated time I received the check-in material. The check in process was seamless; please note the actual address in the email was NOT the actual resort address. But it wasn't too hard to figure out that the 3 large buildings within a residential/marina neighborhood was where we needed to be. The condo was as advertised; very clean with a spectacular view of the Gulf from several different windows. There was plenty of room for the two of us with comfy beds, nice linens and towels. We were disappointed to find out that the pool was off limits during our stay. The location was about 45 minutes from where we needed to be, but it was in between both so it worked out fine. There are lots of places to eat, get necessities and it's easy to find a beautiful beach to visit. I'd recommend this place; just be aware you may not have all the amenities available. ##### PAULA V.
