Blue Moon Cabana is a beachfront house for rent facing the Caribbean Sea in the lovely Garifuna fishing village of Hopkins, Belize. The cabana is centrally located in one of the most popular areas of Hopkins Village and is within walking distance of restaurants/bars, shops, and other popular establishments. It has a full-service kitchen (cook not included!), 2 bedrooms with full-size beds, living room with full-size futon, and a tiled bathroom. Enjoy your own private cabana right on the beach! You will no doubt be spending a lot of time in one of the hammocks out on the 8-foot wide covered veranda that spans the entire front and one side of the cabana. Surrounded by windows, you will enjoy stunning views and breezes flowing directly off the sea. Tastefully decorated and furnished with locally-crafted mahogany furniture, Blue Moon Cabana has everything you need to be comfortable and relaxed, while maintaining a Caribbean rustic-charm. The cabana was designed with an open floor plan that allows guests to enjoy the fabulous breezes that flow throughout the house. The two bedrooms are separated by an enclosed bathroom, and there are bamboo curtain panels for each bedroom that can be closed for additional privacy. Baby Blue Cabana is an additional (smaller) one-bedroom cabana on the property, including a full-size bed, bathroom, kitchenette, and front veranda. Situated behind Blue Moon Cabana, Baby Blue Cabana enjoys sea views, has a separate walkway out to the public beach, and is steps from the sea. On days we had to get out early we were able to make breakfast at home. Many evenings we ended on the large patio with the ocean breeze. You can literally watch the sunrise from bed. You are right in the middle of Hopkins. Everything is within walking distance. The beach is literally right on your doorstep. A great brunch spot is moments away. There's a grocery store kitty corner to you. And excellent restuarants are a short walk away. Plenty of breeze- especially when you open the blinds. A kitchen that will meet all of your needs. A shower that has pressure. And the balcony...oh boy. You will spend hours enjoying the sound of the ocean, the wind, and the view. The beds are VERY firm- I will admit I had a hard time sleeping since I'm used to a softer bed- but everything else made up for that. Plus, our host was super attentive. He took care of everything and responded to any inquiry very quickly. When I return to Hopkins, and I will because it is the friendliest, yummiest spot in Belize, I will only stay here. Zero issues with critters of any kind. We visited the week of some of the hottest temps on record (last week of March) and were nervous about the lack of AC. The ocean breezes and ceiling fans worked great for keeping us cool. Loved the big porch and spent most of our time there. Host was great about providing check-in instructions well ahead of time and was gracious and responsive during our stay. Cabana is in Hopkins proper, so we definitely got a feel for the local setting rather than the more polished tourist version. Hopkins is a nice small town and BMC is right in the middle of it all. Great facilities, great beach and it is managed extremely well. I would recommend a stay at Blue Moon Cabana for the water activities, surrounding hiking activities and for a relaxing vacation.
