This unit is 3rd from the end, bottom floor, close to the small sandy beach, which is practically your backyard. Literally walk out to the beach from the lanai, across some grass and there is the ocean. The beach was washed away the first few days, but made a fast return with the calmer seas. You can snorkel and swim right outside the condo. We watched turtles surfing while eating dinner on the lanai. The surf is LOUD, sounds like waves are breaking in your living room. As for the unit, it is comfortable for a couple and small child, but more than that and you'll be very cozy. Foldout is pretty good for kids and smaller people. Two nice tvs, but we didn't use them because there's so much to do outside. The pool is heated and big and a short walk away. As are bbq's. Worth mentioning is the sugar ants... can keep anything open out on the counter or shelves, or the ants will march in. We just put everything into the fridge or microwave, and always wiped up really well. If you want a more relaxed vacation, away from hectic crowds but so close to the best snorkeling on Maui, this is the place. Beautiful grounds, quiet and lovely. We were a little disappointed that you could not be at the pool unless in the water and the beach by the condo has eroded to boulders making it difficult to access. We have stayed at Kuleana many times. Not sure if it’s because of the virus or what but this time the residents at Kuleana weren’t that friendly. The neighbor was a little weird too. On two occasions I looked over to see him standing right in front of the screen door to our condo not sure what he was doing maybe something with the stairs? We promptly closed the door as it felt a little creepy. Otherwise the stay was awesome! ##### Collene B. Location is quiet so you can really relax, meditate, and get lost in your thoughts. Great location for snorkeling - go say hi to the local sea turtles that frequent the beach! The only slight downside is that there was only one A/C unit located in the bedroom. There's a box fan so you can \*try\* to circulate cool air into the living room on hotter, more humid days (my opinion is skewed since I had my tea ceremony here and brocade fabric on traditional attire does not breathe AT ALL).
