Located within the grounds of the well-known Lobster Pot restaurant and very close to the Anglesey coastal footpath and the blue flag beach at Church Bay, it’s a great base for a wonderful seaside holiday. The Anchorage is a bright and spacious holiday home that is well equipped for groups of family and friends to use as a great base from which to explore the many attractions of this lovely part of Anglesey. There are great beaches nearby, a wide range of water sporting options, terrific walks, good restaurants and terrific birdwatching. Ground Floor Living Room An open-plan sitting room with a log burner leading into the dining area with the kitchen around the corner. There is a good supply of family-favourite board games. Kitchen The kitchen has all necessary accoutrements including a dishwasher, electric oven, gas hob and microwave. Utility Room With washing machine and dryer Bathroom Shower room with WC and sink and shower First Floor Bedroom 1 - Ensuite A double bed with a compact ensuite shower room. The room also boasts fine views of the Irish sea. Bedroom 2 - Ensuite A double bed with a compact ensuite shower room, with sea views Bedroom 3 A cosy twin bedroom Bedroom 4 A second twin bedroom Family Bathroom Bath, WC and sink Outside There is a small south-facing lawned area with picnic table. The Local Area The Anchorage is a great base from which to explore the Anglesey coastal footpath. The wonderful Cemlyn Nature Reserve which abounds in birds and other wildlife is just a short drive away. Church Bay (Porth Swtan) is just one of several small bays across the north coast of Anglesey, and a trip to Cemaes Bay for an afternoon on the beach and paddleboarding is one of the many options. Copper Kingdom is a short drive away where you can explore the copper mountains and their array of colours. Stayed 4 nights in Feb 2025 This review comes from a trusted partner site and has not been verified. ### 10/10 Excellent Jun 23, 2025 #### Perfect family get together venie Celebrating turning fifty with my sister and brother, we stayed for a week with her son and daughter (also celebrating turning 30!), my husband (celebrating a birthday too!) and a friend (another twin, celebrating 40, but without her womb-sharer!) and from the moment we entered the chorus of "this place is gorgeous/perfect/fantastic" was being echoed by everyone. Fabulous dining area where we spent most evenings playing card and board games, laughing, catching up, eating and drinking - it was easily the center of our "at home" life, exactly as a kitchen to dining area should be. The comfortable lounge area where we could easily connect up various computers and games consoles for gaming was spacious enough that we could all get involved too, and everything being open plan meant that even if we split as a group into two different activities, we were still all communicating as a full family group and making the most of those moments where we finally all get together, a sibling event that seems to be rarer as we get older. Meals out were easy to find, with plenty of eating places within short driving distance, and literally on our doorstep "The Lobster Pot" where we had booked for our main celebration meal. Despite it being a little short of the real tourist season, places were opening up and starting to get themselves ready for the Summer, so we managed to experience most of what was on offer in the area, from the walks, to the activities and the adventure days. Topping off with the amazing local eateries, again, many just warming up for the real season, we had a fabulous time. The home itself proved to be perfect for the seven of us, well equipped, warm when needed (rarely, we were very lucky with the weather) and easy to air out when over-warm. The kitchen, once we figured out the oven (seriously, seven adults scratching their heads trying to figure out an oven none of us had come across was hilariously embarrassing!), was equipped with the tools, pots, pans, baking sheets etc that we needed for any meal we cared to make, and easily accommodated full cooked breakfasts for seven most mornings.
