Apartment in quiet upscale Holetown area near Limegrove Centre and Beach
Location: Perfect for couples or families of 4 looking for a tranquil retreat, this apartment is attached to a 2 storey home located in a private high-end neighborhood known as Halcyon Heights in Holetown, St. James. It features a relaxed décor with an open plan design in the living room, dining room and kitchen area, plus two spacious bedrooms with air condition units, built-in closets and one bathroom. There is a patio looking out on to the surrounding gardens where fruit trees such as mango, lime and coconut and a variety of tropical plants abound. A comfortable parking area is available within the yard to allow easy entry and exit. We are in close proximity to Limegrove Lifestyle Centre which offers excellent Restaurants, Bars, Multiplex Cinemas and popular brand name stores including Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren, Mac Makeup and Longchamp to name a few. A 10-to-15-minute walk gives access to Barbados' prime west coast white sandy beaches and the diverse dining experiences which are also part of what Holetown offers visitors from all over the world. Major Supermarket - Massy Supercentre, medical facility - Sandy Crest and options of international banks such as Republic Bank, RBC Royal Bank and First Caribbean International bank are all within a short distance. A trip to the capital city of Bridgetown is also a snap.

Wonderful Holetown
Visiting to watch test cricket and was very pleased to have chosen Holetown and Sonia and Ian’s unit. Our costs were welcoming and continually assisted. The walk to shops and beaches could be a challenge for some but becomes easier each time. I’d recommend visitors join a snorkeling and turtle watching tour, that was fantastic.Over a fantastic experience and Australia won the test!Mark from Kincumber, Australia

Our 2 weeks in Holetown couldn’t have been nicer; the apartment is spacious and in a beautiful location, away from main roads and affording privacy. Returning from our trips out, it was lovely being able to soak up the quiet and the sounds of the wildlife … just sitting on the veranda. Sonia has provided everything we could possibly need in the kitchenette and the aircon in the bedrooms was a wonderful relief from the very hottest of days. It’s a lovely apartment - even just for relaxing on days in between excursions; we were very comfortable there.Sonia and Ian are fabulous hosts; extremely helpful and always contactable if the need arises. Sonia checked in with us half-way through our stay (via phone), just to check all was okay; much appreciated (an attentative host).Denis has stayed here previously (which speaks for itself!), but it was my first holiday to this lovely island – and I would absolutely want to stay here again, when I return.Thank you both very much.

Great place to stay. Close to beach, stores and restaurants. Would definitely come back. The main road to the beach has no sidewalk in places. Could be an issue for some, especially at night. Recommend a taxi at night if you don’t rent a car. Unit is very clean, well equipped and quiet.

Sonia (and Ian) were truly wonderful hosts. We enjoyed our time in this comfortable, spacious and spotless 2 bed apartment. Great shower, air con in bedrooms, insect mesh on windows, comfy beds, safe, hairdryer, cable tv (if you like that) and wi-fi throughout. Stayed for 9 days at the apartment and it was close enough to walk to beach and shopping but a bit of a climb coming back so perfect if you have a car. We rented a vehicle and it worked out fine for us. Nice quiet location. Extremely lovely hosts that accommodated any requests we had. Would recommend this apartment.

Perfect Apartment!
We loved our stay in Barbados! This apartment was the perfect location on the west side. Certainly could have walked to the beach, mall, grocery store, etc but ideally needed a car to see the island. REALLY LOVED seeing the troupe of monkeys passing by several times a day! Sonia and Ian were the perfect host, made us feel welcome and comfortable! We'll be back!

Lovely spacious apartment among gardens
The lovely spacious apartment with patio in the garden was quiet and private yet it was good to know Sonia and Ian were just next door. The bed, shower and kitchen were all great, as was the AC.
I liked the location close to Holetown, but although I am a good walker I tried to avoid the walk down the winding hill in the busy traffic and would have a car next time. I appreciated the welcome and kindnesses. Thank you!

This property is very clean and situated in a beautiful neighborhood. However, transportation is a must OR plan for a hired vehicle (Taxi, etc).
The hosts are very accommodating and wonderful a couple. Sonia (owner) made sure I had everything to my comfort and would check in periodically to ask if I needed anything. I felt at home and slept well.
I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend booking this property.

Sonia and Ian were wonderful hosts, very kind and helpful. The apartment was immaculately clean, communication was great, and the location was perfect for exploring the island. Thank you so much for hosting me in your beautiful home.
I would recommend booking a hire car as the road into Holetown has no pavement, there are a few blind corners and cars can travel quite fast. I enjoy walking and it’s only 10mins, but having stubbornly done it once I agreed with Sonia’s recommendation to drive the short distance instead!

Ian showed around the apartment and wished us a pleasant stay.
We turned in exhausted after our long flight and four hour time difference,. But the bed was so hard, we couldn’t sleep. We tried all angles,
The following day we told Sonia that it was so uncomfortable and she said no-one had ever complained. We asked for a mattress topper at least. We made up the other bed with both counterpanes under the bottom sheet, but it was just as hard. We spent two nights on this before there was a knock on the intervening door - Sonia bought in a smaller mattress and put it on top of the hard one.l. As the replacement mattress was rolling around on top of the original, we removed the original to the spare room. Only to find the it had been on the bed upside down. Further investigation found the mattress was dated 1990 and had a huge stain in the middle of the upper side. The mattress in the second bedroom was also upside down.
The sofa and chair cushions in the lounge were also very worn to the extent that we needed to double them up to prevent sitting on the wooden frames below.
The patio was fine, but had not the garden outlook we expected from the description, but was cramped into the corner of the plot, looking onto a breeze block wall and next doors tatty chain link fence. The drains from the main house were just by this patio, and let by odours quite frequently.
The original VRBO description of timing from Halcyon Heights to the beach was claimed to be 5-7 minutes walk (which has now been changed on the description from 10 - 15 minutes).
The actual mileage from the property to the beach is 1.1 kilometre and not 0.6 kilometre as described on the VRBO website.
This road has hardly any sidewalks and is extremely dangerous to walk in the daylight - so after dark absolutely a no no. Therefore we had to hire a car for the whole of the month’s period we were there.
When talking to Sonia about the main garden with its mango trees, she told us she had lived there for 20 years.
To sum up, the description of this property needs to be wholly reviewed. We spent a lot of money for a very disappointing inadequate property, and had to spend further on a car for the whole period. We are so out of pocket and think VRBO ought to check further on prop

Smartest way to enjoy the platinum coast!
Smooth sailing all the way. Quiet neighborhood, lovely hosts who were very easy to reach for anything. We interacted primarily with Sonia.
