The blinds do not keep the sunlight out and just after 5 am the room was awash with light. Couple that with other guests sitting right outside our room at 7 am talking loudly over the TV which I tried to use to drown their noise out. After listening to them congregate in the carpark drinking talking and music invading our paid room until around 10pm from arrival at around 5ish not a place for me or to be recommended by me. Each room is uniquely decorated with creativity, clean and comfortable. Just steps away from the charming town center, you can enjoy views of the Derwent River, heritage sites, antique shops, and cozy cafés. We chuckled when we first arrived and saw the collection of bric a brac that was dotted around the entire motel. The rooms were warm and comfortable, if a little tired. Friendly and helpful staff, and the location is very quiet, yet close to the middle of town. It was so strong that even the supposedly "clean" towels and bedding had the lingering odour, which was really strong, and as non-smokers, made us feel sick and get sore throats. The smell reminded me of nightclubs in the 80's - when cigarette smoke would permeate your hair and clothes. Although there was a heat pump, i had to crank it up to keep warm and went to bed early the first night. This was my second separate night saying at the Junction and I chose to return as hands down it was the most comfortable bed of my journey. The price was very reasonable, the location is great and convenient for accessing Hobart, Mount Field NP and other sights and experiences in the regiion.
