The hotel itself has a lovely colonial style and the staff were friendly and helpful. I accidentally left my mobile phone behind and they were incredibly responsive and sent it by motorbike taxi to me so I could continue my trip with it. I have staid there several times over the past few years and like the location. It is right on the river and a nice small quiet hotel. Food is good. They have a water taxi if you want to go into downtown HCM, which is a fun ride. The first room had plumbing issues, could not control the hot water! and the shower fitting was broken. A noisey building site next door. Mouldy fruit in the room. Breakfast was not a buffet, the staff had never heard of cereal (cornflakes), only one dish allowed together with only one drink. This is strange as the minibar was refilled daily at no charge. We had to sit for breakfast overlooking the Saigon River which would have been great but for the rubbish. They should invest in a permanent barrier to stop this.
