It’s perfect for gathering with family, friends, work trip, VT/Radford Univ. events. It’s a very private, peaceful part of the lake with lots of wildlife and few passing boats. The large deck is perfect for gathering, grilling, unwinding or making s’mores at the fire pit. Huge private dock for fishing, swimming, boating & creating memories. The lodge is very private, quiet, peaceful and full of natures beauty. WiFi with excellent speed for working remotely with a desk overlooking the lake. Linens, towels, toilet paper and hand soap are provided. The lodge features a huge front porch, partially covered, to enjoy your morning coffee along with a private stone patio to enjoy grilling and dinners outside. Newer furniture, excellent WIFI internet, washer/dryer, private patio and decks, multiple decks on both levels, and all the kitchen essentials. There is a Gas grill for grilling and also a propane gas fire pit to enjoy on the deck for s'mores. There are three separate sitting areas with couches throughout the lodge. The large master bedroom features a luxurious king-size bed with stunning views and a large private master bath with both shower and jacuzzi tub. The second bedroom features a king size bed. The third bedroom has a queen size bed with sliding glass door to private back deck. The fourth bedroom has a daybed along with bunkbeds. The fifth bedroom has a double bed with sliding glass door to private back deck. The loft has two twin beds and room for air mattresses or sleeping bags. Guests will not have access to the garage. Pet-Friendly: Up to 1 dog allowed per stay with pet fee. NO cats allowed due to owners allergies. Pets not allowed on furniture. Yard is completely fenced in, but fence is bent down in 2 areas in the back yard where large tree branch fell on the fence. Small crate available for use upon request. There is great swimming and fishing off the dock. The water at the end of the dock is about 5-7 feet deep and has a ladder for easy access in and out of the water. On the upper deck of the dock there is plenty of space for relaxing and catching a suntan. There is a sand bar about 40-50 ft out from the dock that prevents boats from the main channel from coming near the dock which makes it very private for swimming. If you have a boat there is easy access to the dock and has tie ups available. There is are 2 paddle boards and a 2-seat pedal boat available for guests. General: Free Wifi, central air conditioning, central heating, smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detector, fire extinguishers, towels/linens, board games, pack-n-play crib available if notified prior to stay. Reverse Osmosis water filtration system for great drinking water. There is an abundance of wildlife including deer, bald eagles, osprey, beavers, bear, fox, snakes, herons, etc... The lane is very private and excellent for morning/evening walks or for young kids to ride bikes or scooters. Do not park in the grass. We currently offer another VRBO listing of a neighboring waterfront home with 2 Bedroom and 1.5 bath with a hot tub. The front porch with lake views plus the large living area with a great dining table were my favorite spots but some of the younger members of the family enjoyed the game area the best. The house is spacious, well designed for a crowd and is in a private location. We are a large family, ten adults, one child and one baby and the house suited all of our needs. We were disappointed not to be able to use the upper deck of the dock because it is in desperate need of refinishing, but relished the paddle boards and kayak time on the gorgeous lake. Being the chef for 9-people I missed having a block of good knives, but the configuration of the house is fabulous. Rocking chairs on front porch with a fire pit beat out tv time for everyone. I booked this property a year in advance to plan a little family reunion. The house was very spacious with tons of space for 8 people to feel comfortable. The big kitchen was important as we were planning on cooking and hanging out at the house as much as possible. The house was clean and felt safe. The access to Claytor Lake was amazing. My brother and father really enjoyed fishing right from the dock. My husband and I took the paddle boards out several times. A new activity for us that we truly enjoyed. My nephew enjoyed the kayak. The beds were comfortable and we never felt like there was a shortage of places to sit and hangout. We played cards, listened to music, watched movies, grilled on the patio and watched the sunsets. I took my nephews and dog on an epic waterfall hike called Cascade Falls. I went for a run on the New River Trail and rode my bike 20 miles on the Huckleberry Trail. We also visited the Rising Silo Farm Brewery and Draper Mercantile. All reachable by car. The property owner was nearby for part of our stay and was very helpful and friendly. The location is quiet and the neighbors we came in contact with were always waving and saying hi. A great family vacation overall! ##### Jackelyn B. I can say that the pictures do not do the property justice. The house is much larger than we perceived from the pictures. To say there was ample space is an understatement. Also, the house was impeccably clean and fresh and truly felt like home. Whether it was relaxing in one of the many seating areas or on the massive rocking chair filled front porch or playing in the game room (foosball table, ping pong table etc) there was always something for everyone. The property was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and it had everything we needed. Our family and extended family enjoyed the time together and the location and amenities had a lot to do with that. Communicating with the property owner was easy and he was both welcoming and accommodating starting with the reservation. We highly recommend the property and this owner. Séjour de 4 nuits en juin 2023 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Allen J. 20 juin 2023 Points forts : Propreté #### Beautiful lake home We loved staying at the house. The view of the lake is spectacular. The house is large and spacious. Several living areas but we spent most of the time (when not on the water) on the huge front porch. There were toys for kids and games for adults provided. Fully supplied kitchen with everything we needed. We loved the outdoor dining area as well. Chris was a great host. Very responsive. Highly recommended… we’ll definitely consider staying again. ##### Allen J.
