5 Stars-Amazing Stay

We had an amazing stay. The place was clean, spacious, and exactly as described—actually, even better in person. It was the perfect place to relax after a long day of exploring and riding. There were so many thoughtful amenities—my favorite was the hot tub! Plenty of parking. Jim is a great host. The kitchen was fully stocked, the beds were comfortable, and there was more than enough room for everyone. The setting is peaceful and private, yet close to town and other attractions. All ages enjoyed

This property is well laid out for families or small groups. Between the kitchen and bar area we had two dishwashers and two refrigerators. Children and adults enjoyed the stay. We spent a lot of time on the patio and enjoyed the pickleball court and hot tub.The owner was very responsive whenever we had a question.

Absolutely loved everything about our stay at this house. We had everything we needed, we just bought groceries. Our host was amazing. Between the shuffleboard, basketball court, hot tub and the pickle ball court, we had plenty to do while we were relaxing at the house. I have a daughter in a wheelchair and this home is very open. I had no issues getting my daughter around.I will be recommending this host and his house to my family and friends. I hope to stay here again in the future.

Wonderful Family Vacation

Perfect Location and Perfect Space!

Our family group of 8 had a great time here, the place was well-stocked, the pickleball court was so fun, as was the shuffleboard table. Our kids had a hard time leaving such a fun house :) loved the privacy and seclusion of the house but still close enough to walk 5 min into town. The host was so accommodating and responsive. Highly recommend!

Great place for family trip

This place was awesome! Jim was very friendly. He has everything you could think of and it’s all very organized and clean. My kids had a blast on the pickleball courts, lounging in the hot tub and making s’mores at night. Would recommend this place to anyone!!

Fun in the hills!

Our group had so much fun here. There was plenty to do for adults, teens and kids. We especially enjoyed the fire for smores and the hot tub. The home was plenty big for us. We had 6 kids and 3 adults.

Another great stay!

This was our second year back to Starry Pines and it didn’t disappoint. Jim is a great host. The property is in a nice location that fits our interests and needs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone with a larger group.

We had a wonderful stay! You can truly tell how much care and thought the owner put into every detail to make our visit easy, convenient, and enjoyable. From the well-stocked amenities to the cozy and inviting atmosphere, everything was set up to make us feel right at home. The location is fantastic—close to everything we needed, yet quiet and peaceful. A very nice place that we’d happily return to. Highly recommend!

HILL CITY 2024

An amazing host and place to stay. So much fun right at the house. The place was clean and felt like we were home. So convenient to all areas in the Black Hills. Great House

The house was perfect for our girls' trip. It's centrally located and and has a well stocked kitchen. We made good use of the outdoor area in the back with pickleball court, corn hole, hot tub, big screen tv, and fire table. Jim was very responsive during our visit.

Amazing Weekend

We had a really great stay for a long weekend. House was cleaned and had anything we would really need. Lots of different games and activites to do at the house as well. We had 8 adults and it was extremely comfortable for everyone. We had a large trailer to haul our UTVs and there was also plenty of parking. Would highly recommend!

Great location, very cozy, and beautiful!

This was a beautiful property with very helpful hosts. Would recommend a check-in binder, instead of the in-person check-in. Also maybe make sure guests are not there when you need to service things around the property. Other than that our stay was amazing!!!

What a great place!

We spent the weekend in this place and it was amazing. One of our favorite properties ever. We had our kids and my in-laws and the place had something for everyone. The pickle ball, basketball, and shuffleboard were great for keeping the kids entertained. The adults liked the hot tub and great outdoor patio. The kitchen was very nice and everything was very clean. Would definitely recommend. FWIW, this was our first trip to the Black Hills and we were very happy we elected to stay in Hill City rather than the Deadwood area. Closer to Custer and Rushmore and less of a party area.
