See our Pics! Enjoy the view! Covered porches with high end patio furniture and an updated downstairs living room with 3 sofas and 2 club chairs. Come for the hiking, waterfalls, shopping and resplendent dining in Highlands! Or, perhaps you just want to cool off while you escape the rat race and relax on the 24' high deck overlooking the mountains of Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee and Northeast Georgia while the sun sets beautifully behind them. This house has recently been completely renovated with new flooring, all new luxury bathrooms and a fresh new kitchen. The bedrooms all have luxury bedding with brand new high end mattresses. Great for two families with both and upstairs and downstairs masters with king beds, and a bunk room with two twins over two queens, a walk in closet and storage dresser. Heated floors in master bath upstairs and double vanities in both full baths. We have brand new high end patio furniture, sofa and club chairs this spring and have added an upstairs TV to the two we already had downstairs with Direct TV. \*\*\* NEW IN 2021\*\*\*\*We have added a new high end patio set with a sofa and two club chairs to the upper deck along with a TV upstairs in the common living area. The kitchen has all new cabinets, granite countertops, and all stainless steel appliances, including two dishwashers. There is a charcoal grill and wood burning fireplace, it is the guests responsibility to provide charcoal and firewood which can be purchased in town. Close to town, great living room upstairs for reading by the fireplace during the day. Cozy living room downstairs for relaxing in the evenings. Contrary to other reviews, we had zero problems with texting through iMessage and web browsing. Satellite tv and apps worked very well for us also. The kitchen was perfect. Huge sink, plenty of cook wear and the double dishwashers were a nice touch for group dining. Beautiful view off of the back deck. Very nice firepit area. Beds were comfortable. The rooms and spaces are great for 2 couples or families. There is no main level TV but that doesn't bother me. We visited in November so it was a little too chilly outside to really enjoy the deck but the views are spectacular, even from inside. The location is very private and secluded just 10 minutes from town. 10 minutes on these winding roads can be a lot for running into town and back though. The home was well furnished with everything you would need and everything is new. Furniture and beds are comfortable. The host was responsive to questions and check in/out was super easy, even in the dark. We would definitely return to this property for another stay. ##### Chris B. The house was lovely. Beautifully updated and decorated. The kitchen was nicely equipped, we had what we needed to cook our planned meals. The beds were very comfortable. Linens and towels were all soft and inviting. Everyone was pleased. We spent time by the fire pit and on both decks, it was all quite relaxing. That being said the driveway was anything but…but we all managed. We went to Dry Creek Falls (beautiful) and downtown for lunch and shopping. Look forward to visiting again with a bit more time to look around. There are a two things that I feel need mentioning that did not affect my review. We were a mixed age group from 25 to 80 and there is no handrail leading to the lower level. We ended up not using what looked like a lovely seating area as the outdoor furniture was not uncovered and the deck had not been cleared. We did use the outdoor table. We know it would have been our responsibility to cover it every night but we felt it would have been more welcoming had it been uncovered when we got there. ##### Karen H. This property is one of the cleanest, nicest rentals I have ever had. It looks like it has just been renovated. Everything you need is right there. The owner evens supplies certain condiments such as as spices, soy sauce, coffee, filters, etc.. There is a pretty view from the second floor balcony. The furniture is very comfortable. The bathrooms are spotless. So the house is super. I seem to recall however that the listing mentioned wood burning fire places. They are gas however, but nonetheless, remote controlled and beautiful to look at. The only issues with this property are those that have been mentioned in previous reviews. As you leave Highlands and are about a mile out of town heading toward the house, there is NO internet. Your phone cannot make a call and you cannot access the web. This is not the fault of the owner, its just the facts. When you arrive at the property there is Dish, and you can log onto their internet through that medium but it is still slow to no. We could not make any calls from the property although the owner has a landline for use if necessary. However, even with the log in none of us could use our IPhones for surfing the web. I hate that that is even a concern in these days and times but this is the world in which we live. Also, the firepit could be greatly improved if the owner would install a handrail to access it. Lastly, the driveway is not for the faint of heart but you will get used to it soon enough. All in all, this is a very nice place and we had a wonderful time! ##### charles e. There are two other homes nearby but enjoyed the fact it was a bit more isolated. Owners have done a terrific job updating the house and it was very neat, clean and warm. We were lucky and had terrific weather so it was terrific to spend the day on hikes and coming back to a well appointed kitchen, make dinner and relaxing on the deck with beautiful views. We have rented a myriad of homes for short weekend getaways and this is one of our favorite houses we have stayed, would wholeheartedly recommend it. Plenty of space for larger groups (was just my wife and I for the weekend), one of the bedrooms has a bunk bed for little ones. Short 20 minute drive to Cashiers and just a few minutes to Highlands. This was the perfect place to have as “base camp” - near enough to all amenities yet far enough for peace and solitude. It was the perfect place to rest and relax (as much as you wanted). The home is immaculately maintained with views as breathtaking as they appear in the pictures.
