Located just 10 minutes from town, the lavishly appointed, cedar sided, lodge style home is convenient to shopping, dining, churches, medical facilities and entertainment, but if it’s privacy you seek, you’ll be on your own like a rolling stone. It’s the perfect place to experience cool autumn nights, crisp sunny days and all the splendor of fall colors. You’ll enjoy brisk evenings out on the covered porch, sipping a warm beverage, snuggled up in comfy rockers by the huge outdoor wood-burning fireplace, where you’ll be making precious memories to last a lifetime. It’s hurricane season in the south anyway, so don’t be a sad-eyed lady of the lowlands, come on up and let us give you shelter from the storm. A Family Friendly Floor Plan!: This luxury 7 bedroom, 3 ½ bath home comfortably sleeps up to 16 with a King Sized Master Suite on the main level as well as a smaller bedroom with a full bed and full bath. \*\*\*N0TE\*\*\*Area over Garage, door connects to the loft area, with 3 separate bedrooms and bath. All bedrooms are very spacious with ample closets and a view from every room. Beds are very comfortable. Huge master bath with jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Travertine tile. 2 Separate vanities for guests. Full bath upstairs with tub and shower. The great room has cathedral ceilings with windows all around to enjoy the view and an inviting seating area centered around a massive stone gas log fireplace, flanked by a 65" flat screen HD/TV. The dining area with antique farm table seats eight and the enviable, fully equipped kitchen is offset by a large stone island which seats another 2 or 3 guests. Upstairs, there’s an open loft area with game table, seating and plenty of games, perfect for rainy day people of all ages. There's Horseback Riding at the new Brasstown Stables, Fishing, White Water Rafting, 'Grubbing for Gems' & Panning for Gold in nearby Dahlonega, and if you have little ones, be sure to visit the Birthplace of the Cabbage Patch Dolls, just outside of Cleveland. Of course you wouldn't want to miss a visit to the Alpine village of Helen, just 25 minutes away, where you can find something for everyone. There are street performers, dancing, fun and activities for the whole family, along with an interesting array of little shops and great restaurants. The host answered all my questions promptly. We used the inside fireplace and it was good. We also used the outside fireplace a few times. We were a group of 10 family and friends, ranging in age from 19-87\. Because the cost of the rental was so reasonable, our usual family group invited friends! We managed to utilize all 7 bedrooms! It was great to be able to spread out, relax, and be away from civilization. The views of the mountains from the deck were so beautiful. The home decor in places is a bit dated, but we were comfortable. We especially loved cooking over the fire, sitting on the deck, playing games, and watching the World Series. There was enough room for all 10 of us to spread out and enjoy. We were provided with plenty of towels and washcloths (you don’t find that at all cabins). The only issue we had was the driveway is very steep. Checking in was very easy. The kitchen was spacious with all small and large appliances as well as many pots, pans, mixing/serving bowls and utensils. We had lots of room and seating options inside and on the deck. The mountain view was great and we spent much time on the deck. There were different areas for games and visiting to spread out or the large common area to visit together. The views and activities in the Hiawasse/Helen area were great. Go see Blue Hole. The house was labeled everywhere which was a little overwhelming. We were afraid to even use the towels after we showered. And the listing said there is a hot tub which is one of the biggest reasons we rented this house BUT there was no hot tub. And the jetted tub in the master didn’t work. The size of some of the rooms were slightly smaller than what they seemed in the pictures. And in order to get to the back bedrooms, you had to walk through another bedroom which was not private and could be uncomfortable for adults sleeping there. The kitchen was very nice and the huge pantry was needed for our large group! We had 16 guys who came from various parts of the US to play golf in the mountains. 10 stayed at this house and six at another. There was plenty of room for all 10 of us. The views from this house are spectacular. All in all we had a great time the house was very comfortable and we would stay there again. ##### Don z. There was plenty of room for everyone and not once did we feel crowded. The owner was great and even reached out during our stay to let us know of a storm shelter nearby as we experienced some rough weather during our stay. We are a group of six couples who love to travel together so this house was perfect for us and there was plenty of room for everyone!! The pictures do it no justice! This home is beautiful and the view from the massive porch was absolutely breathtaking!! We spent every night around the fireplace, laughing talking and having a great time! The kitchen was stocked so well with EVERYTHING you will need to cook for a group! This home is perfect for large families or groups! The home itself is large, comfortable, and even better in person. The photos don't do it justice! The surrounding view is absolutely picturesque and serene. I hope other guests will be responsible pet owners and clean up after their dogs, as we collected a large amount of waste left in the yard by previous guests when we first arrived. (That is a reflection of irresponsible pet parents, though, and not of the home owner.) Clear instructions and reminders are posted in the house, and we felt completely at home for our post-Christmas weekend. We had 7 adults and 2 children and never felt cramped or crowded. This was our family Christmas gathering and it was very nice that the house was still decorated for Christmas. Lots of dishes and appliances needed were provided. WiFi is a little spotty which made it difficult to get the code to check in and get the code to the house. Driveway is very steep.
