### Palomba Rural II.

Palomba Rural was born from the illusion and experience of who has dedicated his whole life to creating his own style, with the intention of offering a new way of knowing the rest.  
  
Mix of souvenir, old, new and design, which fits in a cozy place.  
  
A place for lovers of nature and sports, with magical corners around it.  
  
Our dream is to give this house a bit of simplicity and tradition as its name Palomba Rural represents.  
  
Palomba Rural arises from the rise of rural tourism, where people approach an area with the purpose of living for a few days with the rural community, knowing their customs and traditions, and enjoying an environment both geographically and environmentally away from urban centers and of conventional tourism.  
  
Palomba Rural is mainly summarized in a sustainable tourism development focused on the enjoyment of natural areas that promotes the practice, among others, of the sport of skiing, golf, cycling, environmental and cultural understanding, as well as its appreciation and conservation.  
  
The rural lodging is located in Paracuelles, locality of the municipality of the Brotherhood of Campoo de Suso.  
  
By the municipal term of Paracuelles it crosses the river Híjar, in which the stream that gives name to the complex ends. Arroyo Palomba serves as a watering hole for cattle in the area. This stream can be accessed from the facilities of the complex.  
  
The following describes some of the possible points of tourist interest closest to the Rural Complex.  
  
\- Alto Campoo Ski Resort  
  
The Alto Campoo Ski Resort is located within the municipality of the Brotherhood of Campoo de Suso, located at the northwest corner of Campoo-Los Valles. It is the second city council in extension of Cantabria, and its limits are marked by the mountains of Cordel, to the north, and Labra, to the south, which are wedged in the impressive circus formed by peaks of heights that exceed the 2,000 meters of altitude, and on whose slopes is Alto Campoo.  
  
The most important top of this ancient glacier of the Tres Mares Peak, which is named after three rivers that pour its waters into the three seas that surround the Iberian Peninsula (the Ebro to the Mediterranean; the Pisuerga to the Atlantic and the Besaya in the Cantabrian).  
  
\- Birth of the Ebro river  
  
One of the towns of the Brotherhood of Campoo de Suso is Fontibre, where the birth of the Ebro river is located. The small fountain that flows in Fontibre and whose waters emerge from the Tres Mares Peak, has a reception center. In it, the visitor approaches the knowledge of the cultural, social and landscape diversity of this river, which has historically united cultures and peoples.  
  
The environment of the cradle of the Ebro river spreads different river flows that converge at this point to give rise to the official birth of this great river. Within the center there are activities such as guided tours or self-guided tours inside the space, visits to the surroundings of the birth of the Ebro or routes that, starting from Fontibre, run through some of the main towns of this municipality.  
  
\- Nestares golf course  
  
Very close to the Ski Resort is the Nestares golf course. Located two kilometers from Reinosa, capital of the Campoo region, it has 18 holes, adapted to the characteristics of the natural environment, and its torque is 72.  
  
The route of 6. 250 meters has a versatile layout that allows the practice of this sport at all levels. In the design of this field, the landscape conditions and their gentle slopes have been taken full advantage of. As an annex, the field has a practice area, aproach, bunker and putting green as well as shops and sports equipment rental service. Also, the Nestares Golf Course has a wide range of courses for all ages.  
  
The environment surrounding the Nestares Golf Course stands as one of the most spectacular in the region since its route is between snow-capped mountains in the winter season.  
  
\- Romanesque Interpretation Center in Villancatid  
  
Villacantid is one of the localities that are integrated in the Brotherhood of Campoo de Suso, and in whose Romanesque church of Santa María la Mayor, the Romanesque Interpretation Center is located.  
  
This center integrates illuminated panels that are placed on the walls of the church and where the history of the Romanesque is explained, as an informative and study guide of the entrance of this art in Cantabria, when in the eleventh century the kingdoms of Castile and Leon They open relations with Europe. From this first Romanesque period between the end of the 11th and the beginning of the 12th century, the exhibition includes the historical memory of the two best monuments of Campoo, such as the collegiate churches of San Martín de Elines and Cervatos, in addition to 48 other churches They raised in Campoo during the last period.  
  
\- Argüeso Castle  
  
Argüeso Castle was the emblem and fortress of the manor of Mendoza's house in the highlands of Campóo. Built on a small hill, it is composed of two towers and a central body that joins them, and surrounded by a wall that closes the courtyard, the Argüeso represents the most prominent and ancient example of a rocky castle in Cantabria.  
  
Its origin is uncertain since there are no documents to determine precisely its antiquity or its historical prominence, although there is evidence that a part was built at the end of the thirteenth century, and, later, when the Catholic Monarchs turned this manor into a marquisate of Argüeso In 1475, two towers were joined by means of a more palatial body and a small wall was erected to safeguard the courtyard.  
  
Very close to the castle, in this same town is the Cantabrian village, a reliable recreation of the ancient Cantabrian villages, and in which you can see the most ancestral forms of life of the inhabitants of Cantabria  
  
\- Mazandrero  
  
Territory of contrasted landscape in which its riverside vegetation stands out next to well-preserved forests of oaks, beech and birches. We are also in an area of protection of the brown bear, an endangered species of which there are barely a hundred copies left in the entire Cantabrian coast and that seeks its natural habitat in the quality of these mountains.  
  
On the other hand, lovers of active tourism and hiking have an unbeatable opportunity in the region of Campoo de Suso to enjoy their hobby through an attractive route suitable for both walkers and those who want to travel by bicycle.
