However, it's not the cleanest. When I walked through the backdoor to check out the back yard I walked into a spider web they must have almost covered the whole door. There was a broken window pane on the back that hadn't been fixed but the property manager obviously knew about. I'm pretty sure that was dried tomato sauce on the floor when we got there so not sure when the last time it had mopped. The Cahaba Cabana was a great location for us since our daughter lives just a few minutes away. The spacious, open kitchen and family room and four bedrooms worked well for our six adults and one toddler. We didn’t get a chance to use it, but there was a very spacious fenced-in back yard that would be perfect if you wanted to relax or cook outside or have pets. The house met our needs for sleeping and showering. Unfortunately, the house has not been taken care of very well. When we walked into the front door we were blown away by the unpleasant animal smell. The smell was significant throughout the home. The master shower had mold around the crease of the floor and a few other places throughout in the caulk. The ceiling fan in the main living space & master bedroom did not work. The stairs are in need of repair with a noticeable slant. We were charged for “extra people” even though that is never mentioned in the description. When I asked about this I was sent this Message from the host “We charge a base rate for up to 4 guests so that smaller groups are not being charged for additional utilities and linens that they will not use. We could increase our rates across the board, but it doesn’t seem fair to charge your group of 6 for utilities and linens for 8\. I’m not sure about a management fee. We don’t bill a management fee“ So the price advertised is not for 8 ppl. We were given 1 towel per person for the entire weekend which was not enough. Especially in the hottest summer months. I have had Vrbo rental properties for many years so I know what it takes to keep a property rentable. The bedrooms are all upstairs so if that is an issue, you should consider that. The bedrooms are all spacious with comfortable beds. The great room is spacious and open to the kitchen space. The back patio and yard are nice. For TV, plan to bring your log in and passwords for your accounts you use at home, ie Netflix, Disney, Hulu, Youtube TV etc. There is no basic TV, you stream what you want to watch. In our group we logged into YouTube TV, Netflix, and Disney + with no issues. We were missing a couple things we thought we should have in the kitchen and the owner had them to us that day. Publix Grocery is close by and also good restaurants. ##### Kent P. It was locked with no code shared with us. Which meant we had to leave our car outside and for that it seems a partial refund should be considered. There are some things that should be at the house for guests. Hand sanitizier, lysol wipes, aluminum foil, pam spray. Things that people that travel cross country should not have to purchase. There was only one hand towel in each bathroom and most of us like our own hand towel. Things we found in the house that were damaged. Toilet paper holder in powder room-left laying on the floor. Face plate in the living room laying on the floor. Formal dining room wall has a huge piece of paint and sheet rock damaged. Window in the living room broken. I would be happy to talk to someone about that. We enjoyed our stay at the VRBO; but it could use some serious cleaning as well. ##### Patti D. We rented this home for the weekend of a soccer tournament, but it was cancelled. I’m so glad we didn’t cancel the rental. It was such an awesome weekend with family.
