Western NC and North GA abound with opportunities for recreation and relaxation. Set your sights on long-range views with visits to Bell Mountain in Hiawassee (20-minute drive) and Brasstown Bald (highest point in GA, 35-minute drive). Spend the day on Lake Chatuge with a boat or personal watercraft rental from a local marina or launch your own from nearby public access. Want to immerse yourself in nature in the Nantahala National Forest? Bring your mountain bikes and ride the first-class trails at Jackrabbit Mountain (also great for hiking and dog-friendly) less than 5 minutes from the property. On the GA side, take a 30-minute drive to a waterfall hike via the High Shoals Falls Trail or make the 40-minute drive to Alpine Helen, GA for a taste of Bavaria in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Road coming to the house is a 1 lane road well maintained paved road with pull-offs, please use caution and be courteous to other drivers. The driveway will accommodate 3 cars. No boat trailers allowed. \- The cabin is all 1 level with an open concept living room, dining area, and kitchen. \- Laundry room is in the closet at kitchen/dining area. \- Both bedrooms are queen beds. \- The shared bath is a single vanity with a tub/shower combo. \- Walk out kitchen to the back deck. \- There is tv in the living room and both bedrooms. \- There are 2 kayaks, life jackets, inflatable floats and roll carts to haul the kayaks to the lake. Flyers/pamphlet with surrounding information. My wife and I spent the Christmas holiday there. Everything in the cabin was impeccable. All the dishes to cookware the toiletries, the towels, the bedding everything seemed brand new. The cabin was really well maintained. The Fireplace and AC worked well--no issues with heat or cold. The grill had propane and grilling utencils. Christmas lights was nice. Cabin was nicely space from the others (a littlem more than shouting distance). We are beach bums, so this cabin was out of the ordinary for us. We were definately in the woods.
