This location is perfect for family days on the beach (please bring own beach towels), with Whitesands Bay, Abereiddy and Abercastle close by; here your family can build sandcastles, play in rock pools and uncover crabs, shrimps or if you are lucky, a starfish. In Porthgain you will find a welcoming local pub and an award-winning bistro specialising in locally caught fresh fish, perfect after enjoying a busy day out walking the coastal path. Just a 10-minute drive away lies the famous city of St David’s, Britain’s smallest city, at the most westerly point of Wales. It boasts a 12th-century cathedral and medieval ruins of the Bishop’s Palace that you can explore. There are also many art galleries, gift shops, and a good choice of restaurants and traditional pubs specialising in local produce.
