If you love history, antiques, and excellent local restaurants, the cabin is a quick twenty minute drive to historic Harpers Ferry. Do you prefer the excitement of thundering hooves and cheering crowds? Charles Town Races are a quick 20 minutes as well. Is hiking, biking, rafting, and tubing up your alley? With the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers converging, the Appalachian trail crossing, and 4000 acres of the Shenandoah national park, you could enjoy a different adventure every day of the week. This mountain top getaway also sits just up the road from Mountain Lake Club, where you will find live music, good food, beach lake access, and plenty of summer fun. We enjoyed sitting in the sunroom and watching the wildlife. The supplies for our dog were appreciated and the games kept us entertained in the evening. An abundance of wildlife visited while we were there. Deer with their babies chipmunks, plenty of birds. I even had a coyote run across the backyard. The property was literally 20 minutes from everywhere. A nice added touch was that there was only TV in the bedrooms. The sun room and deck were great to just sit and relax. The views, the kitchen, the beautiful room facing down the mountain was our favorite room to do things.The mattresses are a little too forgiving. We prefer stiffer mattresses than were provided. And the drive up, if not used to driving up a mountain, was a bit terrifying the first time. But you get used to it. I don't recommend finding it in the dark. The rain shower shower-head is wonderful, but the shower size is too big for the room. There is no room for toiletries @ the sink. A luggage shelf would be helpful. There are no grocery store nearby. Bring your food with you. ##### Catherine W. Bathroom in particular was nicely furnished with a great shower room. Great view from the indoor deck area. Nice outdoor space with well-done landscaping and a fire pit. The property owner was also highly flexible with needs for my pet. I would recommend this property and would stay there again. ##### Eric H.
