Built in 1840, this fully restored home off Washington Street in historic Harpers Ferry is the ideal place for your getaway. It is walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops of Downtown Harpers Ferry. It is an easy walk or bike ride to the Appalachian Trail or the C&O Canal path. Dozens of wineries and breweries are a quick drive/uber/lyft away. Buffalo House was the perfect landing spot.Located on a quiet side street, this place is surprisingly spacious—much bigger inside than it appears from the outside, like the TARDIS from Doctor Who. All appliances and equipment were new, and the kitchen was exceptionally well-stocked with both cooking equipment and pantry items, including an impressive spice collection. We easily prepared two full meals there, missing only one thing: a beer bottle opener (though it may be tucked away somewhere we didn't find).The beds were comfortable throughout the house. Both upstairs and downstairs bedrooms are connected as pass-through rooms, which worked fine for our group. The spiral staircase to the second floor is narrow and looks intimidating at first glance, but good lighting makes navigation safe. I got used to it.Overall, I'd rate this place very highly. We're already planning to book it again for next year's challenge. ##### Paul B.
