There’s an elevator, nice beds, and a good shower in a clean bathroom. It is down a tiny alleyway that is not well marked, but once you know where to go it is easy (and takes you by a shop with great bao buns). Very walkable and right by night market. It is down a little alley way so look for the sign on the street. It was quiet even though it was so central. Was definitely my least favourite stay on my 2 month southeast asia trip. Firstly I walk in and the room had ants crawling all over, the safe and minibar both didn’t work (which is quite important when you’re somewhere so hot and can’t even keep cold water in your room). The hotel is at the end of this awful sketchy alley, which smells so bad. You’ll be leaving the hotel at 8 am for a tour and people are chopping raw chicken on the floor and you have to jump over them. If you’d like to come back any time after midnight, you have to wake up this guy who sleeps on the lobby floor, which you feel so bad to do… so weird they cannot give you a key like any other hotel i’ve been to. Also they lock the whole alley, so you have to call him outside the alley and wait for him to come there? Does not feel safe at all, as a solo traveler what would i do if my phone was stolen/dead, or if i was followed home or just needed to get in urgently late at night? They are clean and nice. Breakfeast good. Best part is the lovely receptionist who helped us with everything, helped everybody to get their best stay. We also forgot our passport in Sapa and they fixed the whole thing to get it there in 1 and a half day.
