The Steinhuder Meer has become a popular center especially for kitesurfing. In season there are over 90 sailing regattas at the Steinhuder Meer. The Steinhuder Meer is also known for the so-called "emigrants" - over 100 year old sailing boats that only exist here. Swimming and bathing in the lake is allowed and is extra fun in healthy moor water. The focal point is the artificial, 35,000 square meter bathing island in Steinhude in the south with a sandy beach and sunbathing areas. The guarded bathing beach "White Dune" on the north shore in Mardorf lures. The surf beach is also nearby. Guests who prefer to be sailed rather than lend a hand on the boat are in good hands on an excursion on a passenger ship or the emigrants. Golfers will find two golf courses in Rehburg-Loccum and Mardorf. Travel by train from Hannover Hbf with the Regionalexpress or with the S-Bahn to Wunstorf or Neustadt am Rübenberge in approx. 20 minutes and from there with bus lines 710/711 or 715 to Steinhude. In summer there is also an hourly bicycle bus (line 835) from Wunstdorf to Mardorf, Steinhude or Hagenburg. Für 5 Nächte pro Person 1 Duschtuch fanden wir allerdings sehr sparsam. Leider stand nirgendwo in der Beschreibung, dass sich die Wohnung im 2\. OG eines Mehrfamilienhauses befindet. Kein Fahrstuhl. Schwierig für gehbehinderte Gäste. Der abgeblich abschließbare Fahrradraum entpuppte sich als Gemeinschaftsfahrradkeller des Hauses. Zugang nur über enge Außentreppe! Und keinerlei Lademöglichkeit für ein eBike. Das Liegerad meines Freundes konnte gar nicht untergebracht werden. Das ist leider für eine Gegend, in der überwiegend die Generation 50+ zum Radfahren Urlaub macht, nicht praktisch. Die neuen eBikes haben vielfach fest eingebaute Akkus, die nur vor Ort geladen werden können. Leider konnten wir unseren Vermieter nicht telefonisch erreichen, um eine andere Lademöglichkeit zu finden. Auch ein Rückruf erfolgte nicht. Ich habe das Rad dann bei einem hilfsbereiten Nachbarn laden dürfen. Fazit: Wir werden nicht wieder hinfahren. Auch wenn die Lage ruhig und die Gegend schön ist. ##### Anke L. Der Kontakt zum Vermieter - top! Auch der Empfang (Schlüsselübergabe) durch Frau Stünkel Senior war sehr freundlich und man hat gleich gute Empfehlungen für Unternehmungen bzw Restaurants mit auf den Weg bekommen. Komplett ausgestattet und sehr nette Vermieter, die sich um uns gekümmert haben. Man fühlt sich sehr wohl und wohnt in einer ruhigen Gegend. Supermärkte, Restaurants und eine Tankstelle ist nicht sehr weit und bis uur Badeinsel sind es auch nur ein paar Minuten mit dem Auto. Die Wohnung befindet sich in einem absoluten Topzustand. Sehr sauber, übersichtlich und für ein Paar sehr gut geeignet, Ich war mit meinen zwei Kindern (5 und 7), und wir hatten ausreichend Platz. Die Couch im Wohnzimmer ist als zweite Schlafstellen gut nutzbar, eine Auflage, die im Schlafzimmerschrank vorhanden ist, macht diese dann recht bequem. Da sich die Wohnung unter dem Dach befindet, ist es halt etwas warm wenn es draußen sehr heiß ist, das kann man jedoch durch die Kippfenster gut regeln und sollte den Gesamteindruck nicht schmälern. Sehr ruhige Lage, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind mit dem PKW in drei Minuten zu erreichen. Bushaltestelle zu Fuß in fünf Minuten mit Anschluß zum Steinhuder Meer bzw. Wunstorf. Die Wohnung war sehr gepflegt und sauber, Vermieter im Gespräch sehr nett und freundlich. Die Lage der Wohnung ist super, man ist in ca 5-10 Minuten mit dem Rad am Steinhuder Meer. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants sind im Ort vorhanden. Wir können diese Fewo nur weiter empfehlen, besser geht es nicht! ##### Frank H.
