This year has been one of the warmest winters we've had in Japan, thus the lack of snow. But thankfully most of the courses had new snowfall a few days before we went. Location: Gunma prefecture Best to come by car, it's a 2-3 hr drive from Tokyo. (Parking on weekends are free if you have more than 4 people in the car!) Technically in the middle of nowhere, it was the perfect hotel to relax and slowdown after a day of snowboarding. The dinner and breakfast, set in a private room was delicious! And the nakai (hotel staff) were very friendly and helpful. I'd love to come back here in the summer.
