Recently voted one of Travel + Leisure's top 20 favorite resorts, these unique Hanalei vacation rentals at Hanalei Colony Resort are just steps away from the secluded sandy beach that fronts the property! The Hanalei Day Spa is across the parking lot if you're looking to pamper yourself. Restaurant and coffee shop/gallery are also onsite. Just 15 minutes past the charming town of Hanalei, you'll find that shopping and dining options are conveniently close. It's the perfect Kauai vacation rental for proposals, honeymoons, anniversaries, and other romantic occasions. Sleeps 4 (maximum of 3 adults + 1 child). This upstairs corner condo has a both oceanfront and mountain views and it takes just moments to walk downstairs and onto the sand. You'll enjoy the large shady lanai and peaceful sounds of the surf. There is one bedroom, furnished with a king bed. For privacy, it can be closed off from the rest of the unit with sliding shoji screens which still allow air flow to keep you cool at night. A second bedroom is furnished with a day bed, giving you the option to sleep an additional person, plus a futon mat in the closet, perfect if your party includes a child. You can use the room as a home office if it's a working vacation, a desk an comfortable chair are included - the free internet makes it easy. The second bedroom has folding louver doors for visual privacy. Note that sound will still carry, so if you're streaming a late-night movie, be sure to keep the volume low. The living and dining areas are comfortably furnished and there are dramatic ocean and mountain views from each of the large picture windows. You won't mind cooking in the efficient, open kitchen which has everything you need to prepare simple home-cooked meals or serve up your take-out with style. While there are no televisions in the apartments, wifi is provided so you won't be completely cut off from the modern world. (Only as cut off as you wish to be.) Hanalei Colony Resort H4 is uniquely well situated to let you enjoy views of Wainiha Bay, the Kauai coastline, open water, or majestic mountains dotted with waterfalls. As a guest at a privately managed unit in the resort, you are invited to make full use of all of the facilities such as swimming pool, jacuzzi, barbecue area, and guest laundry room. Certain services provided by the resort staff are not available to private renters, such as the towel exchange window, and the resort shuttle. While wonderfully furnished and right next to the beach, please know that the development was built in simpler times. The units are smaller and have kitchens to match. Some normal amenities will be absent given the space and purposeful attempt to honor the simplicity of earlier times: you won’t find a dishwasher or washing machine in any of the units (there is a laundry room on the premises), and most units have no televisions (though wifi is available for those of us who can't escape work or want to stream our favorite shows). As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned. This is an upstairs condo so you need to be able to go up and down stairs. There are no elevators. Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party. Our unit did have a bad issue with cockroaches. We found them in the kitchen, bathroom and ceiling. We had to throw out a lot of food before we saw them as they had gotten into our food. The area is quiet, semi-secluded and a short drive to the charming town of Hanalei. However, the unit itself is not a true One Bedroom. This is due to the lack of floor to ceiling walls. Because of this, the unit does not offer much privacy for members of the same party staying in the same unit. ##### peter g. I have never felt such peace and joy and calm as I did in this sweet condo. The ocean was steps away and lulled me to sleep each night and greeted me in the morning. Sunrises were indescribable. The condo is on the second floor of a four plex and has everything you need. We sat on the lanai and just stared at the magnificent ocean, then turned our heads and stared at the majestic Nepali mountain range. We fixed our own meals nightly - which was a good thing since you’re pretty much at the end of the island. The kitchen was small and dated but served our needs perfectly. The grounds and pool were impeccably maintained. We’ll be coming back every year. ##### Vicki S. Séjour de 4 nuits en août 2024 ### 8/10 – Bien #### Kelly P. 2 août 2024 Points forts : Propreté #### Oceanfront views are perfect Beautiful ocean AND mountain views directly from the lanai. I don't think there are many places on Kauai where you are beachfront and can fall asleep to the sounds of crashing waves! Note that the beach here is not swimmable, however. The constant breeze blowing through kept the property cool and comfortable. This is an older property and some repairs could be made. The wooden sliding shutter doors to the second bedroom area need fixing to be able to open/close properly, and the screen doors to the lanai can be tough to open with the salty ocean air corrosion. Additionally, the beach gear provided is limited and needs replacing. The property only has an umbrella and two beach chairs (that are rusty and moldy). We loved the secluded North Shore beach front location. It was just a short, beautiful drive away from the town of Hanalei for some cute restaurants and shops. Overall, the location of this property is everything and we had a wonderful stay! ##### Kelly P. We spent a wonderful stay at Hanalei, near of tunnels Beach and the shuttle for the Kalalau trail came to the Hanalei Colony Resort to dropp on and off us. We recommand this stay! ##### Sabine T. The property management was polite and responsive. The ocean view was divine! We particularly enjoyed the pool facilities and Lomi Lomi massages at the day spa on site. Glad we stayed here, near the end of the North Shore road where it was more remote & peaceful. The concierge service was a huge plus in helping set up excellent activities for our family.
