We found the castle to be quiet, romantic and welcoming. Our hosts were welcoming and quickly placed us at ease. They were very accommodating to our wants and needs and were able to make several recommendations about interesting things to see and do in the local area.

My family had a regal experience at this hotel. The owner went above and beyond to accommodate us and made us feel like valued guests. The property is stunning, and the service is exceptional; every detail has been carefully thought out to provide guests with ultimate comfort and relaxation. The attention to detail and genuine care were truly remarkable. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to various restaurants made it a convenient choice for dining out ( Although you do not need to, as there are great dine-in options at the hotel). I highly recommend this special place and will return whenever we are in the area.

Overnight stay while attending a concert in Port Dover. Downtown was easily accessible by taxi or a 20 min walk. A charming, quaint, quiet & a stunning property with all the amenities. They were setting up for a wedding the next night & the decorations were beautiful. 5 rooms that sleep 20 people in total; we might just be back with all our friends!! Lynee was absolutely lovely & went above & beyond to make sure our stay was perfect!!

Had a great stay in Dover,. Beautiful property with a great host. Had a lot of fun exploring the tiny beaches along the Erie coast line. Location has great access to Lynn Valley trail, hike/bike into Port Dover or travel up to Simcoe.

The overal experience is okay. Definitely not a "Castle" -> just a large house. It is not as high end/well kept as the photos show. If you are expecting super quality - expect medium. There's paint peeling in certain areas in the rooms. The grounds around the building are a little unkept. There's a hearse car with bat stickers outside. Bathroom was a little worn. The rooms and building were still kept clean. The staff were nice. The food was okay. Eggs+potato breakfast. Store bought cake for desert was a let down at dinner. Breakfast is included for in the price. Dinner is not included and you will be billed at the end of your stay. Expect $100 for dinner for 2 for an average meal. Port Dover town is a 5 minute drive. Not much to do in town. 30 minute drive to Turkey Point. Overall, this place was okay, but the price is a little high for the overall experience. I recently stayed at a better bed and breakfast in Port Stanley which was lower in price and a much better quality and experience. (Telegraph House).

Good Day Aaron, I'm sorry to miss you and your partner, I was away over the holidays visiting my children. I can assure you a Solid Stone House/fortified and surrounded by a wall high on a hill on three acres, is indeed a CASTLE. I am storing a car yes so there is a Hearse at the back of the three Acres. I'm not sure why that is a problem. Guests are always upgraded to one of the Suites, if they are available, and that is what you received. I'm sorry if there was some paint peeling we are renovating that room next month. But you did get a ensuite, fireplace, Satcom TV, Nespresso Machine, Fridge..on and on.... I understand you met our Red Seal Chef and you are Vegan and custom ordered your breakfast. You could have asked for anything you wanted. I usually cook the vegan meals as I am a raw food chef as well. I wish I had been here for your visit. A three course in our Private Dinner in our dining room with a Reserve wine included, for two people at $100 seems like good value to me. Port Dover is an amazing town, with live theatre a vibrant music scene, over 100 fishing boats leave the docks daily, weather permitting, we have three yacht clubs and plenty to do. Perhaps because of the weather and the time of year things were a little quiet. Happy New Year...I hope to meet you next time around.

We were expecting to have an ensuite bathroom but found they put us in a room with bathroom down the hall. This was disappointing. The house is beautiful, nicely kept up and very interesting. Breakfast was adequate and OK.

Good day. The room you booked did not have an ensuite. Our standard practice is to upgrade guests to ensuite rooms if available, however this was not the case as Clonmel was full the evening you attended. Please ask for Lynneee for your next booking and she will be sure to do her best to make your stay more enjoyable.

We have a great time as family of five with little kids...! They loved their hotel stay. Great breakfast and we used the fire pit in the back they loved it. Owner is really really nice she’s very easy to talk with and everything went smooth.

Memorable Stay
My boyfriend and I stayed in the red room in late July. Our stay was great - our hosts (we dealt primarily with Tanya and Lynnee) were welcoming and gracious. We were offered a custom bottle of wine on arrival, and breakfast in the morning was absolutely perfect. The fireflies lighting up the property late evening was unforgettable; there were thousands. If you visit, don't forget to visit the waterfall across the lane! We would love to visit again. I want to play a rousing game of CLUE in their beautiful library!!

She’s very down to earth lady, she welcomes you with open arms and offers you something to drink, show you your room and a quick tour of the castle. Most of the guests are in the lobby and mingling around. Meet a lot of people from all over the place including people from Europe. I’ll recommend this place anytime. Lynneee, excellent host.

We were surprised to find out that we had to share a bathroom with four other rooms, one of which contained a family of four. 12 guests, 1 bathroom.

Yes we do have shared some bathrooms. That was the room you chose. Like in Europe and especially England most Mansions do not have bathrooms like in modern hotels... But we do offer ambiance overload...and great service... If there were guests that were not suppose to be using that bath I wish I would have been notified and I would have told them to use their private bath. Thank you for your comments....

Lynette’s home is absolutely beautiful! She is a phenomenal host, every detail from our welcome to our breakfast was flawless. Did I mention our breakfast?????? Wow. Served to us on the terrace. The food was a Five star!!!! We will definitely be back! Hopefully before the gem is the talk of Dover and will have to go on a waiting list!!!
