By definition, Slackwater is a period of time in a body of tidal water when the water is completely unstressed. Unstressed is exactly how guests will feel in this new 4 bedroom 4 bathroom home which features ample living space with two expansive floors and over 2000 square feet in the prime West Beach area of Gulf Shores. Located in the new Pass Time Community, Slackwater is just steps from both the Gulf beach and a local favorite beach Little Lagoon Pass. This low-density community has a sparkling pool shared by only nine homes! With the pool and the large community fishing pier just outside, guests can experience what Gulf Shores has to offer without leaving their home! If activity is your thing, Slackwater is just a five-minute drive to the center of town for dining, shopping, and entertainment. About Slackwater Slackwater is the perfect beach home for your large family or even multiple families, with ample space for 12 guests and parking for up to 4 cars. On the main level, beautiful beachy decor, a wide open floor plan, and wall-to-wall windows are the cornerstone of coastal elegance. Plenty of seating and an extra-large TV provide an excellent space for entertaining and relaxing all while overlooking the gorgeous Little Lagoon. The fully stocked kitchen has counter space for preparing meals for a crowd and the window overlooking the pool brings the outside in. On the huge covered deck, relax in the captain's chairs and enjoy the breeze! The main floor also features one bedroom with a king-sized bed and TV as well as one full bathroom with a walk-in shower. Moving upstairs, the huge master suite has a private balcony with plenty of seating and a great view of the water. Sit outside and relax before bed to the sounds of the beach. Guests will also find a TV and an expansive master bathroom with dual sinks and a tub/shower combo. Across the hall is another king bedroom with a TV and private bathroom. Finally, down the hall is the kids' retreat, a bunk room equipped with a TV, DVD player, private full bathroom, and two sets of bunk beds, one full and one twin to sleep 6\. Outside Slackwater, guests are just steps to a local favorite beach, Little Lagoon Pass. The Pass is the perfect swimming spot for families with children, featuring beautiful white sand, sparkling shallow water, and the perfect location to launch a kayak for a day of fishing. Speaking of fishing, follow the paved walking path to the brand new fishing pier, stretching 100+ feet out over the lagoon, and enjoy a day of reeling them in! Bring a propane tank and grill up your catch on the large gas grill provided for guest use. Pool Heating The pool is heated from March 1 - May 31 and again from September 1 - December 31. Guests can even access the beautiful Gulf WITHOUT CROSSING A STREET! A few steps beyond the Lagoon Pass beach leads to the sandy shores of the Gulf! The location is great & having 2 fridges was really convenient for our large group. My only two criticisms is that we did not get our questions/comments about the property answered by the manager & the general cleanliness. The property had sand in it upon our arrival. The washer has mold which made our clothes smell weird once we washed them. I made the property manager aware but they did not respond. One of the bunk beds also does not have a functional safety rail. Luckily, we did not need to use that bed. It is definitely not safe for young children as-is. Overall we had a great time! Jun 27, 2019 #### Great Family Vacation Nice property, had a great vacation with the family. Pool was nice, walk to the beach under the bridge made it easy to get to the beach without having to worry about traffic. Was a very relaxing vacation and we all had fun. Would definitely recommend to others. Close proximity to all the restaurants down town, but away from the hotel/high rise complexes which would have made the beaches pretty busy. Look forward to coming back to the area and would look at re-booking this house if available. ##### Steve V. The property was perfect and in a great location. The kids loved the swimming pool which was right outside our door. The kitchen was equipped with everything imaginable: crockpot, blender, griddle, etc. We only ate out one meal the whole week! Property was well maintained and looked just like the pictures on the listing. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach. 2 of the toilets weren't working properly when we arrived, but had a plumber come promptly to fix the issue. They did have some beach items to use, unfortunately several chairs were broken, so couldn't use them. Overall, we had a great stay. ##### heather t. Aug 30, 2018 #### great location for two families We had a total of 5 small kids(under the age of 5!) and this was a great location. they had all the outdoor stuff we needed. easy walk to the lagoon "beach" area and just a little further for the actual beach. check and check out were easy. the only complaint was there were no trashbags or paper towels when we arrived. this was easily solved the next day once we were able to make a grocery run but it would have been nice to have a few trash bags handy. ##### ashlee c.
