Bring the whole family to this great place with lots of room for fun. Enjoy a quiet and peaceful setting at this 3BR/2BA cottage between the bay and the Gulf. This hideaway is situated next to a wildlife preserve and enveloped by beautiful greenery with breathtaking nature and 2 community pools. Extremely clean and well maintained, this property is less than a half mile from the Gulf. Walk to the beach, take a golf cart or drive! The Rookery III is near Fort Morgan and a small community of single cottages that is nestled at the edge of the Bon Secour National Wildlife Preserve and across the street from the beach (beach is approximately 0.4 miles). Just 15 to 20 minutes from Hwy. 59, in Gulf Shores, The Rookery captures the perfect blend of nature and close to fishing, kayaking, 2 highly acclaimed golf courses, and the Fort Morgan Ferry. The unit is professionally cleaned and has a primary bedroom with a King-size bed, 1 bedrooms with queen-size bunk beds, 3rd bedroom has a queen-size bed, 2 tv's with Ruko to stream your favorite shows. Parking passes (guest registration certificates) are required to be displayed on all vehicles and trailers (not required on golf carts). Two parking passes are provided with each reservation. Additional passes are available at $100 each if purchased at least one week prior to arrival. ACTIVITIES: Close By Activities include: Lots of golf courses to choose from, Wave Runner Rentals, Water Parks, Gulf Coast Zoo, Putt Putt Golf, Dinner Cruises, Shopping at the Outlet Malls and The Wharf, Various Festivals (seasonal) & Night Life. Tour historic Fort Morgan just a few miles away or take the ferry over to Dauphin Island for a visit to the Dauphin Island Estuary. Several restaurants, a marina and boat dock are nearby. COTTAGE: The full-size kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and garbage disposal. Dishes and linens are provided, (also toaster, blender, ) and full size washer and dryer. All on one level, there is easy access to the cottage with convenient parking. The outdoor porch area is screened with table, 4 chairs, , 1 ceiling fan. The beach is across the street, 0.4 miles from The Rookery. Walk to the beach, take your golf cart or take your car and park near the beach for easy access. THE ROOKERY COMMUNITY: The Rookery was designed to be a natural and quiet resort and is located adjacent to the Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. This is a wonderful place for kids to play and swim. This unit is walking distance to the first community pool and the second pool has a covered area and a large poolside bathroom inside the clubhouse. There are three public beach accesses nearby. The nearest public beach access is a down Cortez Street (approximately .4 miles). The Rookery III offers 2 pools and a . A Wildlife Refuge borders the cottage, a bird watcher's paradise. Easy beach access across the street, no crowds, no high rises, watch for dolphins on their daily swim. Explore any of the three marked Bon Secour trails, all within a ten minute drive. The cottage was great for my spouse, daughter and son-in-law. I did end up having to get another place for other family because it’s not equipped for 10 adults. As the couch is for two people and 4 others would be on full bunk beds. It would be great for families with kids! Or two couples. It’s also not designed for more than 2 cars. You receive two parking passes with your rental but each additional is $100\. It was very clean, well stocked and very quiet. Although the beach is close, there isn't much parking for the public beach. The host was very helpful with my last minute requests. If you are looking for a nice, clean relaxing getaway for a couple or small family and don't plan to spend a lot of time at the beach this would be great! ##### Elizabeth B. The house is remodeled and comfortably sleeps 8-10\. We were in town for my son’s baseball tournament, which was good and bad. We loved the location and the size of the house. There’s plenty of room to spread out. I didn’t find this aspect negative but it is about 25-30 minutes from the Sportsplex. It sleeps 10 comfortably. I loved how it was 20 minutes away from the city. Host was fantastic and answered every question. Great price for what you get.
