The property offers deeded beach access, conveniently reached via a nearby crosswalk. The cottage faces the Gulf and provides a partial Gulf view between neighboring condos. Guests can also enjoy scenic views of Gulf State Park and Lake Shelby, situated directly behind the cottage. The complex features a saltwater pool for guest use. Pet Friendly: One dog (20 lbs or less) is permitted in this unit. Please notify us in advance if you plan to bring a pet. A non-refundable $150 pet fee will be added to your reservation. Very close to the beach, Gulf State Park, restaurants and grocery stores. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. We stayed from January 1st, 2022 until March 5th, 2022\. We were able to meet the other residents that were staying in the other cottages and can now consider them friends. We loved it so much we booked for three months next year! A very short walk (about 5 minutes) to the beach as well as restaurants, shops and walking trails. Newer, clean and well maintained with a very nice outdoor pool area. We had an issue with the disposal and they were easy to get a hold of , extremely nice and quick to respond. My only concerns were the shower didn’t seem like it had been cleaned throughly and I recommend a leather couch . The current couch was cloth and dirty and worn out . ##### Carla C. It would have been great if these were on the listing and a grill would have been nice to have. We had to buy one. The beds were very comfortable but did not have a mattress protector/pad on them which was a little strange but again they were so comfortable. The walk to the beach was very convenient. We did not get to use the pool since it was cloudy and dirty the first few days and they had to replace the sand filter our last day there. The fridge was not getting cold 4 hours after we arrived and put food in it so I called the manager and was told it would take up to 12 hours to cool down. We ended up buying dry ice and put it in the fridge so we wouldn't lose $100 worth of food. We don't know if it cooled on it's own or if it was cold from the dry ice. I've never heard of a fridge taking 12 hours to cool. Although there were a few things that could be improved, overall we really enjoyed our stay. ##### Genia S. I am usually nervous when booking a vacation rental, and the Salty Unicorn exceeded expectations. The property was clean and exactly as pictured/described.
