Overall an excellent stay.
The room was a smaller than the picture suggested and there was quite a bit of noise from the main road. However, it had all of the basic necessities, it was clean and it was comfortable. The bathroom although separate (although not shared), was also clean and convenient.
The staff were also very friendly and accomodating.
This is a small hotel that has been updated and the bathroom was very nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, and I appreciated being able to have breakfast here. The doors are locked at 10:00 PM, so I felt very safe. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only caution is there is no air conditioning, which I had not noticed when I booked. The room had a fan which was fine since it was September, but this would be difficult in the summer. Any other time of the year I would definitely stay here again.
The bushes in the car parking area definitely need cutting back to allow safe parking, specially with a £10 charge.
Sleeping was not good with window very slightly open because of traffic noise.
The room would benefit from net curtains.
Excellent evening meal, thank you.
The staff here have been nothing short of exceptional—warm, gracious, and genuinely kind. Their hospitality has made my stay feel less like a hotel visit and more like a welcome home.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ “Asperion: Where Breakfast Dreams and Charming Staff Collide”
I checked into the Asperion Hotel expecting a decent stay… and left wondering if I’d accidentally wandered into a boutique cloud with room service.
My room? Immaculate. Modern. Cosy enough to make me question whether I actually needed to leave it at all. I briefly considered cancelling my plans and just living there forever, sustained by tea and fluffy pillows.
Then came breakfast. Not just any breakfast—this was a full English symphony cooked by an actual chef (not a toaster in sight). I’m convinced the sausages were blessed by a culinary deity. Yummy doesn’t quite cover it—it was a spiritual experience in bacon.
The staff? Oh, they’re not just friendly. They’re the kind of charming that makes you feel like you’ve just walked into a Jane Austen novel, but with Wi-Fi. Kind, warm, and effortlessly helpful—if they’d offered me a crown and called me “Your Grace,” I wouldn’t have blinked.
Location-wise, it’s a winner. A short stroll to town, shops, and the train station—perfect for those of us who like our adventures with minimal effort.
Would I come back? Absolutely. I might even bring a suitcase full of bacon as tribute.
1. Finding the hotel was problemátic as visually it looked like just another house and the sign was half hidden from the road by a large hedge . Parking was £10 per day (not previously mentioned)
2. Staff were friendly and helpful
3. Accessibility would definitely be a problem on the upper floor for elderly and infirm
4. Room was scrupulously clean- every thing worked first time including Wi-fi
5. Room was stuffy and hot with no temperature controls- although I did use the fan that had been stored on a high shelf
6. Hotel was easy walking distance to Guildford town centre (15 minutes )
7. Room was rather small with little storage space- I was fine for a weekend stay
This is an unusual format for a hotel but it works very well. Some of the single rooms have dedicated private bath/shower rooms separate from their bedroom with personal key. I was travelling ight and I really appreciated the dressing gown which came with the room. The breakfast room was bright and the service matched it. The railway station is quite close and the town centre lues just beyond it, all downhill so a taxi back may be a comfortabe option. i found the staff veary helpful.
The shower is a serious health & safety hazard as entire floor of the shower is extremely (no exaggeration) slippery + I nearly slipped + fell several times despite being careful. The man at reception on check out said the hotel was aware of this issue + had removed mats in the showers as they were old needed to be replaced, but that only myself and one other person had raised the issue so far. I told him that it was a serious hazard + that someone could get badly injured, but he did not acknowledge this + kept telling me that only myself + one other person had raised the issue, which is irrelevant as it is still a very serious hazard. I also told him that on the morning of the checkout I heard two men talking loudly for long periods of time from my room + he didn´t apologize for this, despite knowing that he had been one of the two men + only said that the door to the corridor had to be kept open as it is a fire door. I mentioned that it was surprising + inconvenient that a hotel calling itself four star and which is expensive had no fridges in the rooms + he said that the rooms used to have fridges but due to cost of maintaining them, as they kept breaking down, they were removed from the rooms. He also told me another reason why they were removed is to discourage people buying alcohol such as beer + white wine from outside the hotel to discourage drinking. I said, but you have a full bar right at the entrance! He said yes, but it´s good for selling. Also,no phones in rooms.
This is a really nice hotel not far from the station. The room was clean, comfortable, quiet & had all the expected amenities. Staff were friendly & helpful. The breakfast has huge! I would definitely stay here again.
Nice hotel , excellent location close to uni and c
Nice hotel 15 min walk from the university of surrey and 10 min walk from guilford downtown. Nice breakfast (additional charge) made fresh in the morning. Comfortable bed, good shower. Friendly, helpful reception
I enjoyed a one-night stay very much, in the cleverly designed single room with its own separate bathroom. Very welcoming, all amenities provided (apart from a holder for toothbrush and paste, but it is a very small bathroom!) and beautifully presented and tasty breakfast. A word of warning if you're walking there from the station - it's uphill and quite steep!
We had a lovely experience at the Asperion, the staff were really friendly and helpful, they let me store my case for the day, after I checked out. The room was so nice, clean and very comfortable, breakfast was fresh and delicious, I would definitely recommend! So much better than Premier Inn, Holiday Inn or Travelodge! Would definitely stay again.
The hotell is next to a busy road so there is a lot of noise all day. Room was old and worn and not cleaned very well. Bathroom was OK, renovated but small and no place for your toiletries. Reception, lounge and breakfast area is very small and not that great.
Would recommend other alternatives if available unless the price is very good ( under 75).
