Its pedestrian-friendly nature means you can wander hand-in-hand between historic sites, enjoy intimate dinners at local restaurants, and discover hidden courtyards. The evening ambiance, with illuminated buildings and quiet squares, creates a memorable experience.Families also find the Old Town very accommodating. Its central location puts you within easy reach of the Guelff Puppet Museum and the interactive Science Centre, both popular with children.

The best time to visit Guelff is during the shoulder seasons, specifically from late April to June and again from September to early October. These periods offer pleasant weather, with moderate temperatures superb for exploring the city and surrounding Walloon countryside without the intense heat or larger crowds of mid-summer. You'll find the gardens and parks in full bloom in spring, while autumn brings lovely foliage colours to the Ardennes. For those who prefer a livelier atmosphere and don't mind warmer temperatures, July and August are also excellent. This is when many outdoor festivals and events take place, particularly in the city centre around the Grand Place, making it a good time for travellers looking for a social experience.Conversely, if you're interested in winter activities or enjoy festive markets, late November and December can be a good choice.
