"This was the worst VRBO experience I have ever had. The day of my stay I had to message for directions to the cabin. Directions were not sufficient and I had no cell service. I ended up paddling to the cabin (to the “left of the dock” as I was told). It was raining and I couldn’t find the key that was supposed to be under the steps of the deck. "The property is beautiful. The cabin was nice and spacious. Stayed nice and warm during our trip. It was so relaxing sitting next to the fireplace and watching the snow blow off the trees. The lake is big and has plenty of room to fish or snowmobile during the winter. They had an awesome ice rink setup with hockey nets and everything. There is a huge playground that our kids spent a lot of time on and were upset when we’d pry them off of it. We stayed over the new year and they had a big fire...

"We were only there one night, needed to attend a family wedding held at another resort. We had to spend most of our time at the other place and were extremely sorry that we couldn't spend more time at the Island View. We plan to return for our own visit over a long weekend, maybe bring a couple friends. Very nice place, lovely view, friendly and considerate host."

"This hotel is gorgeous, as are the grounds. It was oddly empty though, both guests and staff. It feels like we were there at the wrong time of year or the wrong era. A bit dated in some ways, but it also feels like it was a top of the line resort at some point. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay."
