It was a quiet, picturesque escape in the mountains. From the record player with a pretty cool selection of vinyl, to the stocked kitchen, and a washer and dryer, it was a well appointed home base for exploring the area.The only advice we have for the property owners is that the pictures in the listing don’t do it justice. Easy access to the highway to get to Grand Lake or RMNP in minutes. The 2020 fire is evident, and puts some limits on hike-worthy trails. The tub was perfect for soaking after days of mountain hiking. The homeowner stated bears, elk, moose wander the mountain. We saw mule deer while sitting on the porch and did have a black bear try to join us for dinner through the dining room window. The house is wonderful and the view is majestic. Unfortunately we encountered some problems and the property manager was unresponive for over 5 hours. Just a few minutes from the idleglen Parking lot for snowmobiling. We were allowed to leave our trailer there overnight. Finding the house, entering and ease of use of everything was five out of five. The view is spectacular from the floor to ceiling windows looking out over a valley and the night sky has so many stars. Super peaceful. The only criticism I have, and is definitely a preference, is the bed in the master. It's a memory foam style mattress and for both my husband and me, a terrible night's sleep. We loved the record player and listen to John Denver as the snow fell. Kitchen was well equipped and were able to cook basic meals. Internet service and TV streaming ##### Tina S. The interior color scheme and wooden accents from floor to ceiling gave a very zen vibe. And then theirs the wall of windows with an incredible view! There are no words that do it justice! I'm not a hundred percent sure but the lay out of this home seems as though it might be a container home which in itself was super cool! I was a little leary of the exterior photos in the listing just because I've never seen a house constructed like this one before but if you think along the lines of container or module home you'll get it. Either way, it doesn't matter. This place is amazing and I will most like book it again for future trips to that area. It's 10 minutes from downtown historical Grand Lake where you can shop and dine or go to the sandy beach at the lake and rent water vessels. There are two super markets in Grand Lake and the nearest large chain supermarket is only about 20 minutes away. You are also 15 minutes away from the entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Side Note: You need a ticket between the hours of 9AM and 2PM to get in the park. Book early at Recreation.gov If you don't get the date and time you want make sure you are on the website at 7pm the night before.
