This Insta-worthy private suite is located in the beautiful small town of Grand Bay, Alabama. Despite its rural setting, this peaceful retreat is mere minutes from the Interstate! Oak + Fountain is minutes away from the City of Mobile, Mobile Regional Airport, and the University of South Alabama, and convenient to the white sand beaches of Dauphin Island! Oak+ Fountain is everything you could want! Each unit in the newly-renovated Oak + Fountain Retreat has been professionally decorated and sleeps three guests comfortably. Located in an interior hall for your safety, the entrance to each unit has been designed to look like its own individual cottage! Inside, you will find a comfortable queen sized bed, Smart TV, Wifi, oversized shower, kitchenette, and pull-out sofa. Each unit also has a walk-in closet and air conditioning. With 19 units, on-site laundry, screened porch, extensive gardens, and an event venue (with commercial kitchen), Oak + Fountain is perfect for large groups, weddings, church functions, and corporate retreats. (Please enquire with host directly for availability and rates for events/total bookings) Three fountains and multiple oak trees can be found on Oak + Fountain’s gorgeous, landscaped, 2 acre property; perfect for a relaxing walk, formal event, or even taking a Zoom Call outdoors! Ample on-site parking included. All properties have outdoor cameras. You will be able to access your entire apartment unit. We are out in beautiful Grand Bay, Alabama surrounded by farm land. 1\. No smoking - $500 penalty and removal from the property applies if caught. 2\. No parties - You will be removed from the property if there is a party. 3\. No security deposit needed if you booked via VRBO. (Security deposit is generally not required but may be required if necessary in special cases) 4\. Non-refundable pet fee of $55/pet. A separate invoice will be sent for the fee. 5\. Keep your pets leashed 6\. Clean As You Go 7\. Check in procedure – Just enter the 4 digit code we will be sending 6 hours before your stay to access the property. 8\. Check out procedure – Lock the door, send me a message before leaving, strip the bed and place that and the towels in the bathroom. 9\. No candles 10\. Unfortunately, our experience did not match expectations.The property is about 15 minutes from Mobile, which was fine, but arriving in the evening was difficult—there is little to no outdoor lighting, making the walk from the parking area unsafe and unwelcoming.Our first unit had a dead, smashed frog and dirt on the floor. Calls went to voicemail, though the host did respond to my VRBO message and moved us to another unit. Unfortunately, that unit was extremely damp. The towels and linens were damp to the touch, and the bed linens smelled strongly of sour mildew, as though left wet in the washer. After a 9 hour drive and late arrival, we had no choice but to try to sleep on them the first night. It was miserable—we got almost no rest. The next day, we had to purchase our own linens, along with extra towels, hand soap, and sponges, just to be comfortable.Other issues included:•Only one towel and washcloth per guest; host promised more but never delivered.•No bathroom rug, toiletries, or even hand soap.•Flickering bathroom light bulb that had to be removed.•Dead gnats on the window sill near the A/C.•No paper towels or sponge in the kitchenette.•TV not set up for guest use.The décor was nice, but the negatives outweighed the positives.
