![Last week I was staying in Porvoo with new friends. Had the most wonderful time there, experiencing new things and seeing Finland with new eyes.

When I grew up I had Finland on my doorstep. Well, almost. It was about 17 km to the border. The border in this case was Muonio River, which separated Karesuando in Sweden and Karesuvanto in Finland.

I've been in Finland so many times I can't even count them. I've crossed that border so many times, sometimes just to visit the Finnish supermarket. 

But this time was different. It felt like I was seeing Finland's beauty for the first time. Sure, skiing in Ylläs is pretty amazing and always have been. And visiting Santa Clause in Rovaniemi was pretty cool too! But I think I was too young to really appreciate it.

But I do now. And I can't wait to visit Finland again. I'm already planning my next trip to Sweden's neighbouring country. I'll keep my plans to myself for a while longer, but I hope to be able to share it with you soon.

« Der Gesamteindruck war ok. Für eine max. Belegung von 6 Personen finde ich die Villa persönlich zu klein (zu wenig Schlafplatz). Leider fehlte die Leiter vom Steg ins Wasser (der dazugehörige Steg ist auf dem Bild nicht erkennbar). Darüber hinaus wurde bei der Endreinigung des Vorgängers bzw. der Vorgänger die Reinigung des Grilles übersehen. Im großen und ganzen ist diese Villa jedoch ein schöner Rückzugsort und Ausgangspunkt für tolle Entdeckungen im Umkreis. »

"L'hôtel est parfait, le check in est simple est rapide. Il y a plein de choses dans L'hôtel comme hall avec canape, salle de jeu vidéos, salle de jeu (billard, baby foot, jeux de sociétés etc). Il y a également une salle de sport, un spa. Possibilité location de velo ou voiture. Salle de travail. Un restaurant bar dans le hall mais qui ne fait pas partie directement de l'hôtel. Malheureusement le petit déjeuner n'était pas a la hauteur, trop peu de choix de boissons et de nourriture et en plus toujours la même choses. Si on veux un cafe autre que le café filtre il faut le payé en plus, si on aime pas le café il y a que du thé comme boisson chaude. Expresso, chocolat chaud etc tout en supplément Malheureusement. Niveau boisson il y a que de l'eau ou un jus multifruits que l'on peut trouvé dans le commerce mais rien de fraîchement pressé et le choix de nourriture ce limite a 3 ou 4 choses pas plus et tous les matins ce sont les mêmes. Dommage pour le petit déjeuner qui ne vaut pas la peine de le prendre pour le reste tout est parfait. "

"The compact room is small so I recommend it for a max of 2 people. However it had everything we needed and it was super clean. Staff is very nice and helpful. Food is amazing (we had breakfast, fika and dinner included and menu changed everyday). The hotel is close to center so you can just walk everywhere."
