This was advertised on all booking platforms and messages were sent to guests over a week in advance to inform them that there would be no restaurant onsite. Additionally, coffee is available at any time. As we are operating with a limited staff due to the ongoing pandemic our front desk staff member was likely attending to other lodge duties, as advertised throughout the lodge a staff member is available at all times through a clearly highlighted paging system at the front desk and would have been more than happy to get you a hot coffee. We're sorry that you missed this. We hope you were able to enjoy your stay despite the downfalls. Cheers,

Établissement dans le tape à l'oeil. Tout est beau sur les photos mais décevant de saleté et d'inadaptité. Je trouve le tarif cher pour ce que c'est. Vue sur Les voitures du personnel et les poubelles. 2 chaises sur le balcon, certainement plus vieilles que moi et au cuir tellement éliminé qu'il fait mal aux fesses. Chambre surchauffée, impossible de régler la température. Pas de téléphone pour joindre la réception sachant qu'elle n'est pas dans le même bâtiment. Pas de store occultant a la 2eme fenêtre de la salle de bain. Il faut monter sur la baignoire pour ouvrir ou fermer le store présent. Baignoire balnéo aux buses tellement brunes que je n'ai pas souhaité prendre le risque d'attraper une maladie quelconque. Literie ... Je ne me souviens pas de la dernière fois où j'ai dormi dans un lit avec un sommier qui grince... Ha si!! Au Winston en 2019!!! Lit équipé de matelas, sur-matelas, alaise, drap de dessus. Heureusement qu'il y avait deux lits sinon nous nous serions tombés dessus dans la nuit en plus de défaire les draps. Sans oublier qu'un des lit était supporté par ... Des livres!! Oui oui les pieds devaient être trop petits. Et alors niveau propreté on repassera. Il y avait une culture de moutons sous les lits, sans oublier les papiers et autre mouchoirs !!! Et une belle tâche sur un drap de dessus bien en évidence. Le petit déjeuner n'était pas copieux ni diversifié. Même pas la possibilité de faire chauffer du lait ... Séjour super décevant !

Déception, après déception
A notre arrivé la chambre ne correspondais pas à ce qui étais sur le site. Aucune accommodation pour la nuit a été fait mais oui pour la deuxième nuit, ils nous ont changé de chambres Tapis très sales, poils et cheveux dans la salle de bain/douche. Tasse à café dans l’espace commun mal propre ainsi que la carafe, quad j’ai avisé la personne, elle a fait un visage comme si je la dérangeais et m’a demandé ignoré. Aucun sourire ou bonjour au déjeuner, la demoiselle ne fais que ramasser sans aucun service à la clientèle. On mentionne spa... il est non fonctionnel! Foyer, nous ne pouvons pas faire de feu car ce n’est pas encore l’hiver ! Très déçu de mon séjour, je ne recommande pas l’endroit point positif .. Poppy à la réception qui a reconnu que c’était mal inscrit sur le site de réservation et que ça pouvais porter à confusion et qui a accommoder pour notre deuxième nuit ! Rien de plus ! lit d’appoint presque défoncée !

Please note, as advertised by hotels.com there was 1 incorrect photo showing 2 queen beds in the room type you had booked, we have since been in contact with the booking site to remove the incorrect photo they are pushing through. The room you booked, as advertised in writing on both the website and on your booking confirmation, was a deluxe king room. Any additional beds, as advertised in writing and in your booking confirmation was a roll-a-way bed. While we understand that you were upset with the difference in room to what you were expecting, at no point did a staff member ignore you, or make faces at you. We did our best to accommodate you and offered you a 2nd room for the first night, you chose to decline this offer. We then moved you to an upgraded room for the second night. As advertised on all booking platforms, the Winston Lodge does not have air conditioning, it is mid August and temperatures can get as high as 30 degrees Celsius. Lighting a fire in the summer causes extreme discomfort for all guests as the building will be much to hot. Thank you.

Le Winston lodge est un établissement de montagne situé dans une station de ski sur les hauteurs de Golden à une douzaine de km. Architecture et décoration typique, belle décoration intérieure, chaleureuse et même romantique. Mais les prestations ne sont pas à la hauteur du standing affiché et le rapport qualité prix en pâti. Enregistrement dans un bâtiment annexe. Personnel absent le matin du départ. On ne voit personne. Chambre agréable mais lits rustique confortables dont la structure craque à chaque mouvement. Baignoire à remous très spacieuse et agréable mais hyper bruyante pour la chambre et donnant le sentiment qu'on va réveiller ou déranger tout le bâtiment. Petit déjeuner servi dans le bâtiment annexe, pas à la hauteur de l'établissement : choix très limité et produit de qualité moyenne. Impression d'ensemble : bien mais manque de personnel et de suivi qualité, peut-être parce que nous y sejournions en été....

At the time of booking it is indicated that registration and check-in are located at the adjacent building. Our front desk is manned from 9:00a - 10:00p daily and there is a manager on site at all times. As we are a small operation we may be at opposing properties but as clearly indicated at both lodges, there is someone who can reached quickly with a page at any point throughout your stay. Beautiful and quiet. We were lucky enough to be the only lodgers for the one night. Every part of this lodge is beautiful and comfortable. Beds and bedding are lovely. Nespresso machine and a mini fridge that is actually cold! Staff was so welcoming - we will be back!

Listing made it look like a true condo with living room and fireplace. What it is is a hotel-like room with 2 queen beds, common area living room and fireplace downstairs. There was a fridge in the room but only microwave was a small one downstairs in the common area. Good mattresses. Wi-fi never worked. Good location. Hot tub out back looked like it hadn’t been used since winter.

Awesome July long weekend
Can’t say enough good things about Winston Lodge and the management. It’s only a block from kicking horse resort, where there are restaurants and a gondola to take for viewpoints, hiking and biking. But so much quieter than staying at the resort. The check in and out was a snap, the parking ample and it was incredibly private but with management readily available and aimed to make the stay as comfortable as possible. Our room had a lovely balcony on the edge of the forest with a creek that soothed us to sleep. The skylight made us feel like we were falling asleep under the stars and the bedding was like sleeping on a cloud. Our room also had a huge bathroom, was super clean and a fridge in the room in a bureau that was big enough to house all of our needs for a few days. We also had Netflix to watch to unwind at the end of the day. So many extra touches like music playing in the common area so that we felt at home when we returned from outings. We will definitely be back!

This is a very reasonable priced lodge right up on Kicking Horse. Rooms are rustic and have balconies to relax on. Have stayed before and will definitely come back

Beware of renting here as the restaurant is not always open and food options are limited. We were not informed of the restaurant closures until a couple days before our stay. Expedia has no way of requesting a refund that I can find and I will avoid booking with Expedia again because they take no responsibility for the misleading information. No one was at reception the first day we arrived, so we started off our holiday scrambling to find food options. The lodge itself is charming but basic. There is a good ski storage area and the location is good.

I stayed at the Winston Lodge last winter and returned because I loved it so much. It is cozy, close to the gondola, has an amazing on site restaurant/bar and a lovely common area. Feels like a traditional Canadian log cabin.

Spacious and comfortable common area with several seating areas for individual families, and lots of boardgames. Excellent wifi service and they accommodated the limited breakfast options on hill by providing plates & cutlery as well as microwave for guests to warm up their own breakfasts. Rooms are spacious with luxurious beds and jacuzzi tub, perfect for a soak then a nap after skiing.

A nice little lodge away from the crowds of the resort, yet walking distance for morning coffee. This place is easily suited to skiers and outdoor enthusiasts with a large room to dry your boots and equipment. Nice large rooms with comfortable beds and an excellent bistro for happy hour and dinner.

The Lodge is great however we picked the wrong time of year to stay there. Everything on the mountain had closed the weekend before so we had to drive to Golden for meals which is a long way away. It would be a great place for a ski holiday. It would have been nice to know about the closure before hand.

Winston Lodge is tucked away in a skill hill area of Golden. We were greeted by the lovely staff and were amazed by the rustic interiors. The room were massive and provided us such relaxing cottage vibes. The bathroom is large enough to have a relaxing bath. Everything was clean and in order. I really cannot get over the views. I'm sure it's amazing around here during their peak winter season. Make sure to also visit downtown Golden and check out some cafes and restaurants. Definitely recommend this place!

This is a lovely ski lodge and although we are out of season we can see how wonderful it will be in the winter. Very comfortable room. Amazing bathroom. There is a restaurant in winter open but not at the moment. Very pleasant stay.

This is the second time I have stayed at Winston Lodge. Beautiful property, rooms are clean and spacious, comfortable beds too. Staff has always been really friendly. Wish I had more reasons to go to Golden so I could stay here more often.

Loved this property. Has a lovely mountain chalet vibe with really unique and spacious rooms. It is a short drive from Golden itself but makes for some stunning views. Its also walking distance to the ski slope and various restaurants. We'll stay here again.
