Beautiful all-year home made for summer fun. About 2-1/2 hours from Chicago and 2 hours 40 minutes from Detroit, this 3 bedroom, two bathroom sits on a private lake 20 minutes west of Kalamazoo and 20 minutes east of South Haven. In the heart of Michigan's wine country you can relax and enjoy all the summer fun Michigan has to offer. The Lake Mill private community offers access to a variety of different amenities. Just outside your doors includes access to tennis courts, softball fields, volleyball, and horseshoes. On the beach you can enjoy a community clubhouse and sandbox and playground for children. The lake is one of the cleanest in the area with a sand base swimming area shared by this private community. The house itself offers gorgeous views through 4 large windows overlooking the lake and all it's activities. The master bedroom has a queen size bed, television and master bath. The other two bedrooms are across from the 2nd bathroom and offer a queen-size bed and a trundle/pull-out bed for the kids. Beautiful gas log fireplace to enjoy your romantic evenings. Four-burner gas grill is available outdoors to enjoy the summer nights and watching the kids catch fireflies. The house was as described and pictured - the home was spacious and had lots of cookware to use. The home was clean, but dusty, and the beds were comfortable. The shared community lake access, playground, and tables are across the cul de sac, very close! Outside yard/furnishings could been a little more. The reason for 4 stars was the smell of the home was overwhelmingly musty, like mold/mildew, and the oven was from the 1960s and basically unusable. All other appliances were great and when we opened the windows, it helped the smell a bit, but it never went away. Overall a pretty good stay! We loved the lake. ##### Rachel M. The home was clean and had just about every amenity you can think of. We really liked the retro decor. Our grands enjoyed being so close to the lake and did a lot of swimming and fishing. My grandson caught his biggest fish yet in that lake. Thank you Nicole and Ben for allowing us to bring our boat. The tennis court was a bonus. The adults and kids played quite a bit of tennis. Because the lake is private and towards the end of the season it was a very quite and peaceful stay. Lastly, Nicole is very good at communicating and any question was addressed promptly. Also we ran out of propane for the grill and my son-in-law was not able to get a hold of Nicole's dad for a change out. They were lots of kids in the area so my grandkids had fun. It was a huge inconvenience since we had kids in our group and we were planning to cook for them. No credit was provided either for this inconvenience. House is small but we are a close knit group of friends so it worked out. The house was clean and had enough supplies to make your stay comfortable. Location is awesome. The house is less than 30 steps away from a private beach. We tried wine tasting, golf course, local ice cream shops, apple picking etc and it was a lot of fun. ##### Amrita C. Nice view of the lake from front room and patio at the front of the house next to the driveway. 3 houses in from the lake with tennis court, grassy field and private community beach directly across the street you almost feel like you are directly on the lake. Comfy and roomy main bedroom. Well equipped kitchen. Satellite TV in living room and main bedroom. WiFi isn’t great for streaming but Amazon Prime worked better than Netflix. Low cell service but no calls dropped. Came the week before Labor Day weekend so it was quiet. The few neighbors we met were very nice and friendly. ##### Sean T. Séjour de 5 nuits en août 2020 ### 10/10 – Excellent #### Amy D. 31 août 2020 Points forts : Propreté #### Perfect for families We stayed for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach is perfect for kids of all ages and the gradual entry with sandy bottom was wonderful for the youngest kids! Having access to the outdoor sporting activities and playground also meant that we were easily able to keep the kids entertained. The community is very quiet and peaceful which was wonderful as we stayed during the pandemic, and were easily able to keep our distance. Weekends are busier but not overwhelming. The house itself was clean, comfortable, and better stocked than any rental I have stayed in previously. Nicole was easy to work with and having her dad close by was nice as he was easily able to answer questions. Overall it is perfecr for families, especially with younger children! We plan to come back next year. ##### Amy D. Really close tot he beach, just had to walk across the parking spots, and not too many people at the beach, especially in the morning. The only challenge for us was we had no cell service (T-Mobile), but the internet at the house covered our needs. ##### Louis S. Cute neighborhood. We felt comfortable (this stay was during Covid) with the cleanliness and our ability to social distance. The shared beach is busy-ish on weekend afternoons with locals but we were able to find a place with enough space every day when we wanted. ##### Sara H. The house is directly across a sandy parking area from the house, no more than 100 feet. The beach is large, with lots of picnic tables and big trees to provide shade for a good portion of the day. The lake has a sandy bottom, a floating dock, and a floating mat that the kids loved to play on. The house has all of the supplies you would need in the kitchen, although the oven is very dated and we did not use it. The cook top was great though. The master bath has been recently updated and had a great shower with a rain head shower head in addition to the standard one. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows so everyone was comfortable.
