From your private deck or in the comfort of your own hot tub take in the expansive vistas of the Great Smoky Mountains. This cabin is equipped with an electric fireplace for added charm. There is a lot to do in the neighborhood, whether you want to spend the day at Dollywood, Dolly's Stampede, or Wonderworks. Elkmont Views can provide whatever type of vacation you desire in the Smoky Mountains. Cabin Assistance/Emergency/Housekeeping: Once you arrive to the cabin please let us know if you need assistance with anything. If you have an issue with the cleanliness of the cabin, we would rather know upon your arrival instead of in a review, so PLEASE CONTACT US! This cabin is located on a scenic mountain road with beautiful mountain views. It's about 16 miles from downtown Gatlinburg. It is located just minutes from the major attractions, shopping and dining. It is located away from the hustle and bustle, but not too far out. Check In: 4:00 pm EST Check Out: 10:00 am EST Two days prior to your check in, you will receive an email with your Cabin Key Code for the cabin's keyless entry system, cabin Wifi code, cabin phone number, directions to the cabin and Contact information for cabin assistance and emergencies. You will go directly to the cabin to check in. \*\*\*No early check-ins without prior approval. There will be a $50 per hour charge for late check outs without prior approval. The kitchen is stocked with what you need to prepare meals and create lasting memories. A romantic spot for stargazing or unwinding after an exciting day is the jetted hot tub on the private deck, which is perfect for cool mountain nights. The town of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are both easily accessible from this cabin, which is only a short distance away. Enjoy one of those nearby wineries, or turn your trip into an adventure by taking advantage of all the outdoor pursuits the mountains have to offer, including biking, hiking, tubing, and rafting, as well as scenic driving, shopping, and visiting one of the nearby events, amusement parks, and more! Trolley Rides One of the best and most efficient ways to get around Gatlinburg is by using the Gatlinburg Trolley system. Uber, Lyft and maybe a Taxi It is possible to book an Uber or Lyft but not guaranteed. You can also find taxis in the area. Another easy and fun way to get out and see the city is by renting a scooter! Kids and adults alike think that this is a great way to explore the foothills of the Smoky Mountains. However communication with the host was difficult. It states you can pay or request late check out or early check in. We were told no. It said checkout was 11am and we were told we had to be out by 10am. There were towels left in the dryer and around 8-9pm one of the cleaning ladies stopped by to grab them. She was very friendly and the towels weren’t bothering us they could have been left. The fireplace would turn on but not turn off not sure why. I would have given this a 5 start review if it weren’t for all of the bugs. Day one we noticed that there were a decent amount of ladybugs on the curtains which was not a huge concern. The following morning it had become enough of an issue that every couple hours during the day I was sweeping dead ladybugs up into an ever growing pile. Eventually we started to notice a significant number of wasps outside causing it to be very difficult to enjoy the hot tub and the views from the cabin. The wasps made their way into the cabin and we found ourselves sweeping up several dead wasps along with all of the ladybugs into a pile that continued to grow throughout the entirety of our stay. We attempted to reach out to the property manager with no success bringing up our concerns with the bugs, especially since multiple times throughout the stay I received several texts/emails from them stating that if I had any concerns at all to reach out to resolve them. Overall I would say the cabin is worth it but all of the bugs made it very difficult to relax inside or outside. ##### Ben R. Pull out sofa bed if bringing children. Still enough space for them, but don’t expect any privacy if so. Full kitchen and all the necessities for cooking. Made a full breakfast and steak dinner over the weekend. Make sure you stop in town on the way in for all your food as it’s a bit of a drive, maybe 30-30 for a food store. Also, may need to grab a bag of ice on your way in for the freezer. It is dumped after every visit and it takes a long while to make ice. The view is spectacular off the back deck. The hot tub overlooking the view was very well maintained and clean. You do have neighbors, but cabin is secluded enough for privacy. The host checked in via automatic text during our stay. We did not have any issues so we did not need to contact. But they do make sure they are easily accessible is necessary. Overall a great trip! ##### Jessica R. Our second night, we tried again but could not get it to work. That wasn’t terrible, but was disappointing. For information of future guests, there was no coffee in the cabin. Since all other places we have rented have had coffee, we assumed there would be. We would have brought instant if we had known. The remote location makes it hard to return to a store after arriving. Also, any guest should put any food in the refrigerator. We left a box of peanut crackers on the stove and during the night a mouse got into them, nibbled on a package and left droppings. I understand that this is a cabin in the woods, I just wish I had known to not leave anything out on the cabinet. ##### Jeannette M. So much space. So beautiful!! We had brought a pack n play for our 2 year old and then our 8 and 12 year old slept on the pull out bed from the couch.The drive up the mountain is beautiful as well but definitely a bit steep. The unit had a washer and dryer as well which was awesome since having kids this is so helpful. The communication with host is wonderful. Pretty fast at responses. Always helped with any questions I had or concerns before and during our stay. We chose to spend most of our stay in the cabin. Cooked, played games on the game table and used the hot tub.(There were wasps but this is expected due to the wooded area-bring wasp spray.)We Even got to see a bear walk out from under the deck off into the bushes one night. We were well prepared with what to bring for ourselves but this unit could add a dustpan, cutting board and grill utensils. Thank you for hosting us. Bed was comfy and hot tub was great. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was due to the fact that there were wasps in the cabin. I made sure we did not leave any doors or windows open at all other than going in and out, and shutting them immediately behind us, yet there were still wasps inside. Some wasp spray might be nice to have on hand inside the cabin is my only suggestion! I actually did get stung on the foot when putting my contacts in- I don’t know if I stepped on it or what since I couldn’t see! but I was relieved it was me and not my son who was stung! I know bugs are common this time of year in the mountains - again, maybe some wasp killer would be handy to have on hand. We loved the cabin and view! ##### Courtney K.
