This home is nestled in a beautiful secluded location so you feel like you have the Smokies to yourself. A private drive with ample parking and room to turn around, the home sits amid the woods. The deck wraps half way around the house where you will find a hot tub. The living room has a wood burning fireplace and is decorated with antiques and comfortable furniture. With a half-bath off the living room it has a fully-furnished kitchen. The dining room table seats six. Off the kitchen is a full-size washer The first floor bedroom has a king-size bed and door leading to a great-sized bathroom with a full bath and a shower. There is also upstairs a huge bedroom with GAS fireplace two wing chairs, dresser, vanity, king bed and two night stands and still room to dance! Off the bedroom is a full-bath with shower. The cabin was clean and welcoming. Guests appreciated the amount of available towels. We were a little disappointed that t he fireplaces had been converted to gas but the gas fireplace worked well and warmed the living room. The queen mattress in the smaller upstairs bedroom needs replaced. Séjour de 4 nuits en octobre 2023 ### 6/10 – Acceptable #### Abbey F. 18 oct. 2023 Points faibles : Propreté #### Terrible amenities, great location Let me start out by saying I would like to give 2 stars but the owner was responsive and the location was great. The cabin is rustic as stated, which was completely fine with us. There is a big difference in the structure and decor being rustic and the beds, bedding and living room furniture being 30+ years old. We have stayed at many VRBOs, some being quite rustic. However I think it is important to update your sheets, bedding and towels every so often. The mattresses were terrible and the pillows were all very old and used, also the towels all smelled sour and needed to be thrown out. The living room furniture looked and felt like 90s hand-me-downs. Also the pots and pans were very used and the hot tub was dirty and stained. It felt as though the owners took all of their old stuff from their actual home back in the 80s or 90s and put it in the cabin, never updating again. It was sad to me because the cabin itself is very cool and rustic and the location is great. The owners need to invest some of their rental income in amenity updates. ##### Abbey F. It was a short drive to town and accommodated all of our needs. Larry was very nice and quick to respond when we had any questions. The driveway was a little steeper than us out of towners are used to and its a sharp turn in, but other than that we had no issues. ##### Jacquelyn B. Communication with the owner (Larry) when needed was easy and he was quick to respond. We found the cabin to be true to the description provided. We liked how close it was to the welcome center where we utilized the free trolly throughout the week to avoid driving and parking downtown. The cabin itself was unique, comfortable and cozy. We were curious about the history, which Larry was happy to share with us and added sentimental value to our stay there. The only thing I wished for was a better view. This cabin is surrounded by trees with only a small clearing to view the mountains. However, there were plenty of viewing opportunities while we were out hiking and sightseeing. ##### Nick G. I did have a quick question prior to the trip and Larry responded quickly. The cabin was conveniently located to activities and restaurants but secluded and private. The trip included 3 generations of family and the set up ( 1 bedroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms upstairs) allowed for privacy for the family. We would highly recommend staying at Dogwood if you are in the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area. ##### Janet R. My mother, my teens and I stayed here for a week over spring break. Loved reading about the history of the homes in Timberidge!!! The home was cozy and decorated with neat antiques. If you’re looking for modern and updated, this is not for you. We absolutely loved the hot tub!!! Every day was spent in there!! The views were great from the deck (especially the sunsets from the hot tub). We were pleased at how well the house was stocked with toilet paper, towels, paper towels, soaps, etc. Great bonus as so many houses we’ve stayed in give nothing or very minimally. The beds and sheets were comfy. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace and reading on the cooler nights. Wi-Fi worked great. Drive up was very nerve wracking to get used to! Very narrow roads, steep hills, sharp curves…we decided to make sure we were home by dark every day to avoid driving it at night. We did end up finding a way down and up that avoided the curvy areas so that helped! Overall, we’d highly recommend Dogwood!!!! We loved every second of our stay!! ##### Cara L.
