With 4 bedrooms, 2 living areas, 2 covered decks, a game room, a barbeque patio, a short drive to the beach, and private access to the best fishing pier in the area, your family will love to spend a little time at Deja Blue. ● WINTER TEXAN RATE: Escape to the Texas Gulf Coast this winter! The placement of the kitchen allows for unobstructed views of the bay through the windows. Pristine white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and recessed lighting combine to create a clean and efficient space to flip a stack of pancakes in the mornings or pack up some sandwiches and snacks for a day at the beach. Through an arched opening lies the private and tranquil master suite. A king-size bed, flatscreen television, and plush carpeting create a quiet oasis to unwind at the end of the day. You’ll have full views of the bay waters below from the windows, and access to the covered deck. The ensuite master bathroom features a double vanity, spa-like soaking tub, and separate step-in shower. There’s also a half bathroom off the main living space on the first floor. On the upper level, another living area provides plenty of flexible hangout space for large groups to relax. A foosball table and a ping pong table provide endless family fun— with a futon to accommodate any spectators. Another covered deck lies just off this living area and provides truly epic, third-story, sweeping views of the bay. Three more bedrooms on the upper level can handle any combination of sleeping arrangements for your crew. The first bedroom has a king-size bed, the second bedroom has two queen-size beds, and the third bedroom has a twin-over-twin bunk bed and a twin-over-full bunk bed with a twin trundle. A laundry nook and a full bathroom can be accessed from the hallway. Deja Blue is a truly stunning vacation home. But what elevates this home to unforgettable status is the magnificent location. Perched directly on the shores of the bay, you’ll be awestruck at the simple beauty and peacefulness that surrounds this home. Take a walk along the rambling boardwalk and enjoy the sites and sounds of coastal birdsong and gentle offshore breezes. Carpet was disgusting. It was covered in chewed up sunflower seeds. We didn’t want to sit on the couches. Kitchen looked like it had a quick wipe down and that’s it. The pantry shelves had trash and crumbs. Dirty clothes and trash left from previous renters. We went to buy our own cleaning supplies and candles. Pictures online were outdated. Inadequate supply of towels and wash clothes for guest allowed in stay. No mention of pool construction. No outdoor chairs for seating. The views were nice and easy check in process but that’s about the only good things I can say. We ended up leaving a day early because we just wanted to be home. I can say this has never happened to us. We enjoyed walking on and fishing off the pier. Beaches and restaurants are in close proximity by car. The house was spacious. It has lots of places to sleep and activities to do. Great for family gatherings. It has the normal wear and tear of a beach house rental. Overall I would recommend. We encountered a few hiccups and the rental company was inconsistent about communication. Sometimes responses were quick and other times I was left without further guidance or follow up. ##### Lien T. Carpet felt yuck, dish washer was black with slimy mold on dishes. Feel like cleaners due a surface clean. Furniture is needing replaced getting worn. Didn't enjoy being bothered by Law Enforcement and contractors (d/t code violations) or woke up before 8am cause hammering at pool area . ##### Marcia D. Downside was the fact there was 1 coffee cup in the cupboard, trash left on deck table (empty beer can and full ash tray), trash on patio like straws, paper scraps, bottle lids. We couldn’t find a broom to sweep up things. Living room furniture was used and dumpy. Very uncomfortable. Bedroom carpet needed to be updated. Even though the game room was fun there was only 2 ping pong balls and no Foos Ball ball. Upsides were the house is in a very quiet, peaceful, calm location. A/C was cool and comfortable. Misleading, Dirty, and Unsafe Our stay at this property was extremely disappointing. The home was filthy — with dirty dishes put away in the cabinets, leftover food on the floor, and cockroaches in the house. It clearly had not been properly cleaned before our arrival. Also, if you’re planning on staying bring your own cleaning supplies because they have none on hand. & your own hand soap since most of the restrooms soap dispensers were empty. Even more disturbing, someone came onto the property and took a photo while we were in the pool, where our young daughters were swimming in their bathing suits. This was a huge invasion of privacy and made us feel completely unsafe. To make matters worse, there was a pool on site that was not marked as restricted or unavailable — it was fully accessible, not gated or locked off. After using it, the host told us it wasn’t an included amenity, which was never stated anywhere in the listing. The communication overall was slow and unhelpful, and we were left to deal with the issues on our own. This experience was a major letdown. Such a beautiful home but I think they could do a much better job at maintaining the home and hiring better cleaners. Especially for the amount of money it cost to book this property. Fishing pier was convenient to fish. Wish there was more lights at the pier for night fighing though. Location is great—very quiet neighborhood just minutes from everything you want to do in Galveston. We used the backyard dock every day for fishing. House was spacious and clean.
