Enjoy your privacy in this beautiful holiday villa. Located in a peaceful olive grove and surrounded by mature gardens, Villa Oliva is a lovely 4 bedroomed villa with a lovely private swimming pool. Consisting of a living room, dining room, spacious kitchen area, and 4 bedrooms there is plenty of room to relax in comfort. Externally, the large exclusive garden, surrounded by olive groves lends itself to outdoor living, with shaded areas outside the house for al fresco dining or relaxing whilst taking in the sumptuous view. The villa is on 2 floors. There is a private gated entrance for the villa. The comfortable villa is very well equipped. The owner, who is an English language teacher, is very attentive and is available for any queries you may have. She has furnished the villa with care using quality furnishings. The garden is beautifully kept by the owners. Below the garden is the owners olive grove. They make excellent olive oil every year. Location The house is just below the tiny village of Campo, and a few minutes drive from the small town of Gallicano. There is a new restaurant only 20 minutes walk from the house. The ancient and beautiful festival town of Barga can be seen from the house, and it's only a few kilometres drive from the market town of Castelnuovo with its many restaurants, cafe bars, shops, restaurants and supermarkets. Local festivals are held in the dozens of villages nearby. There are many restaurants within a few minutes drive. Nearby is the famous Devils Bridge. Lucca is 40 minutes by car or train. Pisa is under 1.5 hours drive or by train. Florence is 2 hours. Cinque Terre 2.5 hours. There is a train station 10 minutes away. Friends of Tuscany can help arrange mountain biking, hill walking, horse riding, gorge walking, art classes and cooking classes which are all available locally. We can also help you arrange a food shopping and have home cooked meal ready at the house for your arrival. House is located in the middle of olive trees with oustandibg view over valley. Kitchen was well equipped and it had enough berooms for our needs (four). Pool was great to have because ”coldest” day during our stay was 32\. You can easily do a day trip to Lucca, Pisa and Florance from here so location is quite central in case you want to see some great cities of Tuscany. Extra credit for good restaurant recommendations, easy check-in/-out process and great hosts. I would recommend reading guidance how to drive to the house carefully. I trusted navigator and Google obviously does not take into account that road has to be wider than 130 cm to be drivable with car . So read the information you’ll receive before coming to the house to avoid unpleasent surprises. ##### Heikki R. Im Haus selbst hat uns als kleine Reisegruppe an nichts gefehlt. Begrüßt wurden wir sogar mit einem kleinen italienischen Speisekorb und selbstgemachten Olivenöl. So kommt man doch gerne in Italien an. ;) Die Anreise über z.T. Kleine und sehr enge Straßen bzw. Wege ist etwas anspruchsvoll, aber man gewöhnt sich auch hier schnell daran. Das Haus ist für entspannte Pooltage bestens geeignet, der Pool bietet viel Schattenplätze drum herum und beim Tischtennis kann man sich ausreichend auspowern und im Pool danach direkt abkühlen. Abends ein absolutes Muss!….auf der Terrasse den einmaligen Ausblick genießen. Die Eigentümer kümmern sich schnell um alle Anliegen und berücksichtigen voll und ganz die Privatsphäre. Hier als Beispiel die Poolreinigung oder Müllentsorgung, welche vor 8 Uhr morgens bereits erledigt wurde. Ein kleiner Vebesserungspunkt wäre der Insektenschutz im Obergeschoss, hier sollte eine ähnliche Lösung wie im Erdgeschoss angebracht werden. Aber das ist auch mit Insektensteckern zu kompensieren (welche übrigens auch gestellt wurden). Alles in allem würden wir jederzeit wieder in dieser Unterkunft buchen. It was perfectly suited to our family, with spacious and well-appointed bedrooms and bathrooms that made for a very comfortable base. The outdoor spaces were particularly impressive—plenty of room to relax, read, or simply enjoy the peace, with several little sun traps, offering a new favorite spot every few hours.The pool was clean, well-maintained, and ideal for cooling off after the various activities we discovered through Friends of Tuscany including mountain biking, wine tasting, trips to various towns and villages and a wonderful lady who came to the villa to teach us to make ravioli and cook for us. A major positive is the view. Looking out across the valley was like watching a living painting. As the sun moved through the sky, shadows flowed across the tree-covered hills and revealed different details of the villages and buildings tucked into the mountainsides. It was endlessly beautiful, and we often found ourselves just sitting and watching it change.A truly special place to unwind and enjoy the magic of Tuscany. ##### David H. They also take care of the mid-weekly removal of the garbage. Very hospitable. Beautiful surroundings. Only thing that is good to know: there were a lot of mosquitoes in our time. Ansprechpartnerin Vorort ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit, wenn es mal etwas zu klären gibt. Toller Pool mit Liegen und extra Handtüchern und Sonnenschirmen. Highlight ist der Ausblick von der Terasse vor dem Haus - ein Traum! Umgebung mit Barga und Castelnuovo sehr schön, aber eher ruhiger, Lucca in knapp 1h erreichbar, Pisa etwa 15 min weiter. Großer Supermarkt in Gallicano (15 min Fahrzeit) mit allem, was man so braucht in großer Auswahl. Die letzten Meter Anfahrt zum Haus sind sehr steil (15-20%) und die Durchfahrt ist tatsächlich eng. Ein Auto mit einer Breite von 2,08 m (bei ausgeklappten Spiegeln) passt soeben durch, dann muss man aber auch genau "treffen". Fazit: Ein toller Urlaub, wir würden wiederkommen. ##### Alexander R.
